    Looks used from the rust on the compressor wheel nut, and the mark on the compressor outlet.

    maybe he ****ed around with it and got it dirty but never used it. i highly doubt that stuff on the nut is rust. its probably thread lock or something of that nature. if a part like that gets rusty and breaks, could easily be sucked into the engine so i dont think they will use anything raw like that.

    That's still a supercharger. It would pretty much be a belt driven turbo, that has an external clutch that would operate when the exhaust pressure hits high enough....Or at least that makes sense in my head!:eek3:

    aren't the fins cut in certain spots to balance something? I heard Matt explaining it one time, but it was too cold to stay outside and learn some more. Anyhow, it looks used still.

    close. dipp was asking why there was a grind mark on the exhaust wheel ( the part that looks like a nut), and was telling him its part of the balancing process.

    this looks just like the ebay "t70" that my friend dan uses on his frankenstein turbo'd dodge dakota v8. its only ran at 11psi at most but on a COMPLETELY stock 318 v8 it makes it kinda fun especially in the snow.... the turbo, at least the one he has, has held up for a few years now and it sees the elements of mother nature more then most turbo setups as it sits in the bed of the truck... but it is comparable to specs of a "t61" and can be found on ebay.
