The smell thing has been going of for a little while now, but if I start my car and let it idle sometimes/most the time it will smell like raw gasoline. Like when you are pumping gas, that smell.. and this morning I am not sure if it is with the cold or what or if it is correlated to the gas smell but I got a CEL. Just wondering if this is something to be concerned about. Haven't had the code read was thinking about pulling the cable to the battery and seeing if it comes back on.

Get the code read first bud. Then if the cel comes back on you'll know if you have a reoccurring problem or not.

This was a reoccuring issue with the bugeyes. I'm not sure about your MY. I thought that they had it worked out by then. But i get the raw gas smell every start up and have also had the recall done. From my understanding(via Bikerboy), the only way to fix it is to run Perrin fuel rails or something similar. It's been REALLY bad with the recent cold snap, i can barely stand it! Almost makes my eyes water. lol. When i park in my garage, no issue. But park outside and bam, smells like i'm sticking my head in a 50 gallon drum of 93 octane.

As far as the CEL, find out what the code is. My guess would be that it's the EVAP/Emissions code. I believe it's P0457. Let us know what you find out!

Read the code ASAP. Sounds like you may have the same problem I did. Fuel smell only when it's cold? I replaced my lines since Subaru hasn't done a recall on anything except the 02-03s.

That code comes up when you delete your catalytic then delete the P0420 code. It can be deleted.
The fuel smell I don't thing is related. Take the manifold off and tighten all the clamps. You'll be surprised how loose they are in there from the factory.

So when i go to get the code deleted are there any other quirky codes that like to pop up that mean nothing? I deleted the air injection code already and that's all.
