Well I have finally 0rdered and installed enough parts that its time I invest in a nice set of gauges. I am gonna get the Defi Links, black with green face, as I have a 03 WRX with the gree instead of red and wanna match. I have to questions though. I plan on getting the Turbo, EGT, and Oil temp, so that I can tell how my tranny is doing. Now my first question is if those are the first three I should get. My reasoning behind it is that I got a chipped car so I should have the turbo. I am getting a full 3" TBE and figure I should watch the exhaust temperatures to see if something is happening through my engine. Lastly I reasoned that I should get the Oil Temp gauge is because I have a ProTorque TC being installed and need to see how the brake stalls are doing working on my car. So basically is that the proper reasoning for getting those three? My second question is much simpler in that should I get american units or metric units?

Yeah, that is sorta what I was leaning towards as it always does sound cooler when your talking about. Does it matter if I go mechanical or electrical? I have pretty much decided on that Defi Link gauge but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask

i have heard some poeple say that electrical gauges are alot smoother, and that mechanicals can be sticky (as in the needle sticks alittle as it moves). i would read up on the different types or look into it further, in the end it may just come down to which one looks cooler.

as for you choice in gauges i think you are corect. a boost gauge would be very handy, the EGT is suppose to be indespensible while tuning. you got me on the oil temp. it makes more sense then a voltmeter, but beyond that i really dont know.

good luck with your gauges. you can always get a 12" tack fro good measure. (incase you have bad eyes or something)

    1. boost
    2. EGT
    3. oil temp/oil pressure

electrical gauges will be just fine and quite possibly less hassle (oil especially)

Exactly the responses I was looking for. Thank you all very much for the input. I have started to put pricing together and does it really matter which brand I get? All im lookin for is the green light up and everyone says defi but is there another company I should be lookin at that gives the same high quality product for a little less?

How much were the Greddy including the center pod? I herd those light up green but have been unable to find package prices. How much those cost you and what made you swing that way?
