Anyone interested in a custom made one.. Justin got me to make one for him so I made 3 and kept 1.. I think he is buying 2 maybe.. but I am interested and making more.... I will post pics tomorrow if I remember to take my camera to the shop... 2in piping... not as pretty as an aftermarket but probably a lot cheaper.. ha ha ha
I dont think I would buy one, since I already have an aftermarket, but I am interested to see your work and of course to cheer you on! Bring on the pictures, Nate!
deleted pics cause first ones made sucked ont he welds.... As far as welds holding up... well the truth is it isnt polished, it isnt stainless steel.... and welds rust over time... just like on my exhaust... but as far as I can see - unless you spend more time on your back under your car then driving it who cares what it looks like as long as it functions well... and the one on my car.. not a good pic as it is too close...
It connects the 2 exhaust manifolds together. The front-most exhaust pipe when looking underneath. It crosses the engine, thus crossover.
Fong Unlike your expensive exhausts it shouldnt.. ha haha Me and Justin will be talking tonight about it... The one on my car as far as I know so far isnt leaking... I will give it a few days and then recheck it.. but when I made them it was made to my car with NO gaskets so once the gasket is in place it should be a tighter fit... should be.. ha ha now this is just a gauging of interest.. I am not sure I want to get right into it yet as each time I make one I have to pull my car apart to make it suit...
ps... I made them with 2in piping.. so even with the squash bends in them they flow more than stock...
^^^^ make bulk ones when I do it next.. like 10 of them.. ha ha haa I have to order more flanges.. I used them all on this batch
i've posted this before, but for those of you that want to see dyno results with a bigger xover, follow link http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=974977 proven results
Ok. I finished coating one a few days ago. This will be a much cheaper alternative to the Injen Crossover. The Injen goes for $250+. Nathan and I havent came up with a final price yet but we will soon. We'll probably have the option of either ceramic coated or not coated. Oh, and for specs, the stocker is ~33mm(?) and these are 48mm. Dyno advantages of a bigger crossover can be found in the link i posted above.
^^^^Fong, you also need to remeber that the fxt manifolds are different than the sti/wrx/legacy manifolds. Russ
ok guys. Starting to produce these now and i have 10 on hand. A couple are already reserved for a couple ppl here and a couple guys on nasioc, but there are still some left. This replaces the tiny stock pipe that connects the driver side and passenger side collectors of the exhaust manifold. These are similar to the injen ones but the injen's arent coated and they cost $250. I'll be selling these for $125 and they will be ceramic coated. Inner diameter is 44mm. Upgrading the crossover alone has been documented to produce quicker spool up and higher hp/trq. again, here are the proven results. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=974977
and the welds on these ones are very good compared to the original posted pics.... Justin will post some more pics
i'll have to get back to you on fitment. i know the collectors are shorter but i'm not sure if that makes a difference on the crossover. another forester member on here is picking one up in a few days. we'll have a definite answer then.
^^^let ya know his (member mentioned above) works... I may be custom making him one if it doesnt.. if I have to then I will make a few for Justin and he can work his magic... and sell them... thats our agreement and deal with each other!!! so will keep you posted... ie: I makes them - He bakes them!!  :eek3:
I'll be interested in one of these new crosspipes. Aslo Justin, a pnp, coated manifold(without the stock crosspipe obviously) pm me a price ~$90??? I'll still give you my whole stock manifold with the stock crosspipe in return.
These are nice pipes guys! Id be all over one if i hadnt picked up that injen pipe for a killer price!
when you get the Forester issue sorted out, you may want to post a thread over on SubaruForester.org and see what the interest is over there, if you're interested in making and shipping these.
^ We will have a set of forester manifolds soon, so Justin and Nathan can use those for test fitting after i am done porting and polishing them.
Pm'd back. I completely forgot that i had those prices on that thread because almost all my business is from Nasioc and ebay. My most recent mani set went for over 300 so those prices were out of date. I wasnt trying to hide anything, just trying to be precise and updated. Plus the prices will always be a little different depending on the deal we work out(ei. multiple pieces, etc).
here are a couple diffrent threads showing the benifits of ported manifolds and bigger x over pipes. you would get better benifts from doing both of them, the porting of the exhasut manifold, and the larger x over pipe. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1009990&highlight=ported)) http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=996366&highlight=ported
I'm aware of the benefits from larger pipes but I'm more concerned with the application of the pipe. I saw it was mentioned earlier that the current pipes offered were only for select vehicles/ models. I've been up to my ears in Nissan that I haven't gotten into it with my WRX to know right away if what's being offered would apply to what I have.
This will fit wonderfully on your car. The template was designed on a WRX. I've been running one for awhile now on an 02 wrx and i have had no problems at all.
Justin and I both drive bugeyes... Mine an 03 his I think is an 02?? I built them all on my car to stock manifolds indiviually... they are all hand made and fit sluch with NO gaskets so with gaskets should be a real nice fit... as far as effect?? check the link Justin posted.. give or take a couple of horspower.. but it all adds up in the end and for the price it isnt a bad upgrade...
I will have a few of these at firestone tonight if i can make it out. i'll be there at 645 for a sale, but should be stopping back later if i can get there.
Are people meeting at Firestone tonight? If so, what time? I've been by there in the past and haven't seen anyone.
Well, I put mine on Saturday. Went over to Nathan's shop and had him throw it in. Fitment I would say is B+. No major modifications needed to be done, but not exactly bolted up flawlessly. Hard to feel 5-10hp on the butt dyno but I would say it sounded like the turbo spooled a tad quicker. Be great to match with PnP manifold and UP.
yeah when I built them I build them without the gaskets in to get a good tight fit.. hmm they are tight alright... so be warned.. you have to fiddle a littel to get them snug but they will fit with soem work... but unlike Dizmal most guys dont mind getting their hands dirty and working on a car.. ha ha ha
Dude had anything bolted up flawlessly to your car???? Maybe it's your car, nathan even said there's a loose nut behind the wheel....
