They say the GDP is dropping causing alarm through out our markets.... I feel like I have never spent so much money? :eek4: Am I the only one who is still spending?
well, to be fair... things slowed down for me too, but that is from hospital bills and the wife missing 12 weeks of work due to the nooob in the house. but things are getting back to normal!
I am going to mexico for a week and trying to buy a house, so some spending has been stopped but by no means is it because of the economy. If you give me one dollar I will spend at least a buck fitty
I am spending. Well not a huge amount right now but this year has been my biggest spending year (past 365 days, not just in '09). I am looking at spending considerably more on car parts / car related stuff this year as well.
I'm spending more than I used to, but that's beacuse I have a job that pays more than any other job I've had. So it's all relative...
i CAN READ, BUT i CAN'T SPELL GOOD, ohhh, some of the inteligent (and windy) posts are, yawn..... Boring
105.3% better than Shibbs. Also, I'm still spending, and paying off credit card debts along the way. Just bought some new gauges, so I'd like to think I'm doing my part.
Are you asking if we are spending or spending on modding the car? If it is the latter I want Carl's mod budget and not have to work more for it.
Of course the GDP is down. Manufacturing is hurting right now so that should be directly reflected in the GDP figure. In the metal fabrication company I work for in Kato, we are down to 2 employees on the floor from over 15 three months ago
MUST BITE TONGUE.... NO POLITICAL JABS... damn it.. well we are getting what people voted for.. is anyone surprised... I am looking to buy a TiG welder here asap.. around $2K budget...
I am spending too, but for the overall wealth of the economy, minor (personal) spending cannot overcome the huge shortfall of business spending.
This^^^^^^^^^^ I bought a house in June, my subaru in september, a new tv in october, my wife leased a new car in January. I would say the economy hasn't slowed down my wasteful ways.
No, Your right On^ The way I see it, Some company's spend way to much as soon as sales go flat they go broke. If your big enough you cry to the U.S. Senate and ask for a Bail out. They get tax payers money (that there going to pay back :laugh and then a month latter GM says they need another 9 Billion. Sweet
Way to go man ^ All you need is a 18 or 20G on your subie and you'll keep up with me. I'm looking at another new car too. what did your wife get for a new car ?
hhmm..... going to have to wait for a few more pay checks... before I spend more monies CP Pistons w/ coatings ~ $800 Carrillo Rods ~ $1200 12mm Oil Pump ~ $250 Subaru Rebuild Kit ~ $300
I cant afford a Turbo yet.... maybe next year or the year after (need wiring and head stuff before turbo). although I do have a VF11 on the shelf with 23x,xxx miles on it
Yes well I might be buying those towards the end of the summer... although I might not go with Carrillos.
LOL. For ****s sakes, its not political. Nathan, I hope you know what Gross Domestic Product means. We are producing less here at the moment so it shouldn't be big news that the "official" number goes down after a few number chrunchers review and post the figures. It is a simple side effect of an economic slowdown. If you want to make a jab, jab at the american people for buying all their **** from china.
ym it is political... thnk about it.. how does INCREASING PUBLIC sector jobs help produce ANYTHING.. the government doesnt make anything.. it COMSUMES... it is the private sector like the business YOU work for (for how long) that produces, but when the Government raises taxes on small business, the wealthy (you know the ones who have the money to invest in increasing buinesses/starting businesses) and they start sending their business bases out of state or overseas.. how does that help the country... look how Reagan turned the country around in a few short years... unfortunately THIS GOVERNMENT is all about increasing government, increasing welfare ie DEPENDENCE on government supplying everything, and WILL NOT HELP SMALL BUSINESS OR GDP... tell me how it isnt political again Dan, and if we are gonna point fingers at americans buying stuff from overseas.. how about our vehicles.. tvs, cell phones... clothing... look in the mirror
meh... but then again I guess everyone gets so butt-hurt you cant say anything without drama occurring.. I've said my thoughts... whatever.. I still work.. a little less then a few months back, but hey I dont PISS my money away like most, so I dont worry as much about the spending etc..
actually, if you buy from china, it helps alleviate the debt they bought from us. If you want to buy American (help the debt at least), buy bonds. That's essentially what China is doing, buying our bonds, then we have to pay interest on it. If we buy their goods, they forgive some of that debt. Unfortunately for us, the bond market is way down (going up, but not a good return), so you're not really going to get that much for your money. Though, in these times a guaranteed 3% is better than loosing 1/2 your retirement (IRA in stocks/money markets) in the last year and a half.
*checks bank account* Meh... Yep still making money, still money in there, still spending! This car is pretty much the closest thing I have to a girlfriend at this point, so my money might as well go to the Suby Slush Fund.
I tired to buy new 1600cc injector kit from importimage but i think Josh forgot about my order. Havn't seen my bank account dip in the last week so.....but im trying!!!!!
im spending plenty and will be buying my first house once i find one i want. its hard finding your dream garage already built and Duluth is picky on garage permits. ive spent enough on my cars and other bs in the last few years to buy a highly priced 800+whp supra or something else that will just sit in my garage. i have definately seen the decrease in spending at some stores up here.
Holy crap.. ha ha thats about what we spend a month.. for 2 houses, 4 kids, and not sure if still paying of the sold business is in that too.. doubt it.. ha ha a
