does anyone know what the gear ratio is on a 95 impreza auto rear differential? i thought i saw somewhere it was 4.11 but i need to know for sure, any help is appreciated, thanks.
I've heard 2.2 autos have 4.11 and 2.2 manuals have 3.9. .... but yeah, let's hear from Fuji to be sure.
'93-'95 Impreza Auto/Manual runs 4.111 '96-'01 Impreza 2.2L auto runs 4.111; manual 3.900 '98-'01 Impreza RS w/ 2.5L auto runs 4.444; manual 4.111 Forester w/ 2.5L runs same tranny as RS as well as 96-98 Legacy Outback; Legacy Outback has shorter 5th gear ratio.
thanks fuji, this is great this makes my conversion over to my 5 speed wrx 4.11 tranny that much easier, and cheaper
You know I can make my car RWD under $200. AND IF I break things, I still have my AWD parts. hehee U PULL is heaven!
LoL, wouldn't agree more. Instead of wasting money on his so call rwd conversion, he can already bolt that thing up and give it a little turbo or buy some shocks....
another question Fuji, so is the tranny and rear diff on my 95 1.8 5-speed also 4.11 i believe that's what your earlier post meant, just wanted verification, thanks.
Yup, that would be correct. If not then I'm a bad boy..... Because the service manual that I read off of from ALLDATA states 93-95 Imprezas all had 4.111 in both manual and auto trannies. The Legacys as well had it except the turbo Legacy. Then 96+ was when they changed the FD to different ones, which is in the post up there that I posted.
hmm... useful info I am possibly gonna do a swap in my imp, and this is what I was looking for! i have the 5mt EJ18, 1994... so does that mean 4.11? I need a 3.9- anyone want to swap/trade? I will be selling my tranny too- once I get the other one in there I bet some of you know what swap I am talking about! (think offroad+EA82 tranny) (Fuji-you have a EJ22T conversion laying around? how much for it )
