Does anyone know off a good locksmith that can deal with cars in the area. I have been calling around and everyone keeps saying they don't deal with cars. What the eff?!

I just bought a 88 Mustang... Boooo hissss

It didn't come with door keys. I am looking to take take the core out and have a key made. I have found replacement cores for around $50 but if I could just have a key made for a couple bucks I would rather do that. Keep it original haha.

lol I wanted to get a soft top and just weld the doors shut, but I ended up with a hatch that i don't want to do bodywork on.
Not so much worried about the car. Just the stuff i leave in it. I tend to practically live out of my cars.

You could probably get some advice from a good car forum.

If you are locked out baseball bats are always helpful...? But seriously. I think if you got that cylinder out or whatever a locksmith could rebuild it? In no expert but they used to make cylinders from a kit when I worked in the parts department at a car dealership...

On a serious note, bring your title and registration to the Ford dealership. They should be able to cut you a key off of the VIN.

I had this done at the Subaru dealership in Rochester...$28 for a non-chipped key. That might be worth more than the whole car (and I can say that because I had an '89 Mustang GT).

Try A-Daves Lock and Safe. I was in there a last week and saw a bunch of rewards from local car shops I think. I asked for a spare key for my WRX but he said they didn't have info for the 2015 yet.

Well to follow up. Dealerships only can cut keys from VINs on cars 10 years old of newer. I called A-Daves and they said that it is supposed to have come with the same key for the door and ignition, but i don't believe it is true. They told me to take it down for a look but i didn't have time this weekend. I ended up just ordering some new cores I found for $45
