i own a couple of the mischief videos, (dont give me crap).ive also seen alot of the best motoring ones, what other racing movies do you guys like?
i like thunderbolt by jackie chan. he races in a gto (3000 gt vr-4 for nubs). he had an evo, but it got smashed, i believe...
I think the best racing movie ever made is Grand Prix. It is dated but the racing scenes are without equal. This movie was made with the actual cars on the actual tracks. Other great racing movies are On Any Given Sunday and LeMans. For those that don't know OAGS is all about motorcycle racing in the early seventies. Both star Steve McQueen. Not as good quality but good (true) stories are Greased Lightning and Heart Like A Wheel. Entertaining (guilty pleasure) but not worth a damn are Days of Thunder and Stroker Ace. Not even worth wasting the time is Driven. As for general car movies, in order of preference, my favorites are Vanishing Point, Ronin, Bullit, Gumball Rally (getting into guilty pleasures), Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, Hooper, and the cult classic Gone in 60 Seconds. No I'm not a closet Burt Reynolds fan, well except for Boogie Nights. That has more to do with Julianne Moore and Heather Graham than Burt Reynolds.

What are those? You mean like track videos from Top Gear or something? I've got a copy of in-car footage of a guy running his UK-spec WRX (from the GC days) on the Nurburgring against some other Scoobies, Porsches, bikes, and other traffic that was on the Ring. There's also one called Rendezvous that has some myths behind it regarding its shooting. It was done by French direct Claude Lelouch and was apparently a high-speed drive through Paris with a camera attached to the front bumper of his Ferrari 275 GTB. Gran Prix, as Mark mentioned, also uses real racing footage intermixed with the film about the fictional characters. And of course Ronin has the best car chase scenes of all time. What I'd give to throw an S8 around like that
if you haven't seen the original 'Gone in 60 Seconds' you're missing out on an important piece of art history. ignore the remake. still haven't seen this one: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=664327 ...but it looks interesting - is that the one you saw RallyNavvie?
No, but now I'm interested in seeing that one too. Oddly enough Felstead had a hand in making the one I have as well.
TOO FAST TOO FURIOUS!!!!!!!! one of my favorite movies of all time!!! watching all the rice boys racing on da street and out run da popo!!! u need 4 bottle of NAWWZZZ to catch up wit them. have u ever watch hot version? i think its better then best motoring cus they race the modded cars insted of factory cars.
i saw kickin_81 compliment on "thelma and louise" maybe we should take his advice. says there's an incredible road driving scene...
there are also these underground videos of 500+ bhp cars running near Sweden... Getaway in Stockholm...
Seriously we need a group screening of some of these... wish I had a decent projector setup... Let's not forget Ghost Rider 2's "G I S" - Ghostrider in Subaru - segment. Tho the bicycle segment is funniest.
The copy I have of "Rendezvous" is an old torrent copy and it sucks bad. There is a good DVD copy available on the web that was taken from the master and touched up digitally that I've been toying with getting. There are also bad DVD copies out there that are simply conversions of a bad VHS recording. The WRX at the Ring recording I have is a VHS copy that I converted to DVD and the quality is about the best you can get on an analog-to-digital conversion. What we need is some raw, uncut in-car footage from a local rally car, Mark. Either that or I think I can get some copies from Dennis Martin so we'd get to see some brutal crashes. I just love listening to some of the banter between the driver and codriver though, it can get pretty heated at times  As to public showings if we really wanted to go crazy with it we could have a club meeting and rent out one of the Cinema Grills and play something on the BIG screen. Dunno what that costs but we'd probably have to charge a cover for it. If you want something smaller and cheaper I can get a decent LCD projector and a conference room that'll seat 10-12 and it would cost something like $20 an hour or less.
what you talking bout? they race some pretty modded up cars in best motoring. have you seen the skyline battle. (must see for the mines skyline!). i have not seen hot version, but what i have read is that it is basically an americanized version of best motoring. also the Evo vs. Impreza battles were good, they even modded (diffs, suspension) the Evo/STis at the end to see how they handled. not to mention the old imprezas, old evos, on th track w/ the new ones. best motoring as to be one of the best car videos around, granted they arnt funny like the miscief movies (the incident comes to ming where there is a tug of war between a H2 and a excursion), but you can watch th movies then recreate the races on GT4. [/b]
I have all the local in-car on DVD you could want for sale on my website. I will also be happy to bring copies to a viewing party as long as my schedule allows it. Feel free to arrange it and I will do what I can to attend.
i should say some of the best motoring they test out new factory cars, even mini vans. hot version is in bmi also, but u wont see they test out factory cars in that.
