hello everyone, well i am new to the site. if you know tom aka "imprezed" he sold is 97 to my gf, well i dont know too much about subaru's yet but i catch on pretty quick. what kind of compression will a ej25 block with the stock 2.2l heads make? Also what head gaskets should be used? And what is the best way to manage boost? computer wise, i see that alot of people use emanage, the blue box.

if you are gonna be using 2.2 liter heads, use a 2.5 turbo gasket, i highly recomend NOT running boost, your comp ratio is gonna be in the 10.5 ish area

we are planing on rebuilding the motor before putting it in the car with a new transmission, just looking for how low of compression pistons going to need.

That is dependant on how much boost you want to run. there is going to be a magical cylinder pressure number that you want to stay with. So if you were to boost a 10:1 motor, you would have to pull alot of timing to keep your cylinder pressures in check. Now, if you are running 8:1, you will be able to run more boost and timing to get your cylinder pressure up to where it needs to be.
