as some of you know i moved to colorado for the winter and wasnt planning on coming back till march or april but i broke myself snowboardin so im back home a little early. **** happens and now i have a compression fracture in my number 1 lumbar vertabrae. but anyways i dont think ive posted on here since like november so i figured i'd throw up some random pics from my travels and make a couple of you very jealous. first is my apartment back in november when i first moved in before the snow started comin down (notice the lift in the left side of the pic about a 2 minute walk away ) just a random run at vail with a cool view the amazing gore range, probably the most beautiful thing ive ever seen, and i got to see it everyday! me hittin a little kicker that i built with the roomates at vail, nothin crazy but turned out to be a pretty cool pic this was a pretty common view out of the porch in the mornings about to drop into the rose bowl at beaver creek powder day in larkspur bowl, one of my best days of riding view from beaver creek down onto the village and the town of avon and finally the reason i am home early, stupid fragile vertabrae... i didnt take as many pictures as i would have liked to and i didnt get any pics of the crazy stuff because i was too busy riding to stop and take out my camera all the time. moving there was probably the best decision ive ever made and i'll prolly be going back for another winter in the next few years. even coming home early i got almost 30 days of riding in and i got a few runs everyday at work so i actually got to ride everyday. it was quite a life style working 4 days a week, riding the other 3 and partyin all over in between.
Damn, it looks so nice there..... post more pics if you got them. Hope your back heals up, can't go without snowboarding for long or you'll go crazy.
So what exactly did you do? I am going to graduate this spring and need to have some fun before I get a real job, so did you teach lessons there? About how much was the cost of living there? (you can pm me this if you want). I've been teaching lessons here in the midwest for 7 years and wouldn't mind working in steamboat or vail or something. by the way, that sucks about your back, it's always been my nightmare to mess mine up even more :cry:
I snowboarded in Colorado in November.. man it spoilt me for snowboarding here in MN... I really want to go again.. it was awesome... great powder and great runs.. and I only went one day.. dang it... and I have only snowboarded like a handful of times but it was the best.. sorry to hear about your back mate

ouchie! looks like you will be laid up a little. check out active thereputics. they have an awesome program for regaining strenght and getting your range back. the machines they have are huge. they strap you in and totally immobalize everything but one specific muscle group. awesome program. i had a blow out last summer on #1 and #2 from skating at the mound bowl. i couln't walk without a cane.. the guys at active thereputics got me back 90% to where i was. the next 10% i'll have back by the end of the winter. and if you get a referal, your insurance will pay for 3 sessions a week.
yeah, the back sucks, i crushed one of my lower vertabrae i think 3 or 4 when i was 14 trying a backflip snowboarding, it was great, even though i snuck out to go boarding 2 weeks later- probably not the smartest idea but oh well, i was wearing my back brace :twisted:
