I only personally have one rifle, a chinese made SKS. I Swapped the stock out for the Druginov synthetic one gave the rifle a whole different feel and look, I like the pistol style grip it gives it too. My Father went nuts with gun purchases a few years back so here is the list that I have shot of his and have access to if i want to use them

    AR-10 .308
    45-70 winchester lever action
    30-30 winchester lever action
    30-06 bolt action
    .270 bolt action
2ea Remington 12 gauge semi auto
    .22 Remington long rifle
50 cal black powder, I am not sure who that one is made by
357/38 special by Rueger I beleive
.45 semi auto in stainless by Rueger
.22 target pistol in stainless with birch stock

and for those of you who know a little about tactical guns I happen to know someone who has a P90 machine gun but not in fully auto, I'm still waiting to shoot that one.

The AR-10 is alot of fun, when you hold/shoot Armorlite made rifles you can tell they are made for one purpose and one purpose alone, killing.

My 6 cylinder makes 1250 lb/ft of torque.
If you wouldn't mind bringing that 1911 to the range I'd like to try something. I'm curious as to whether or not a modern mag will still fit in one of those. By all accounts they should, I'm just wondering if it'll hold true for one as old as yours.

I'm going to be setting another range day up soon, probably towards the middle or end of April. I'm trying to see if a good friend of mine down in Owatonna would be willing to let us come and shoot at his farm. He's a Federal Air Marshal and has enough firearms to take Baghdad. Otherwise, I'm thinking one more indoor day before we do an outdoor range. The weather in April is just too fickle to plan for an outdoor day, not to mention soggy targets are a pain in the arse. I would love to get the same group we had out before, and new people as well. I think we had a great time and the people who had never gone shooting before really enjoyed themselves. I will see what I can do for those of you who wanted a weeknight shoot, it's a little trickier for that and we wouldn't have as much time to shoot.

I shot some sort of rifle a few times. It was loud, I squeezed my eyes shut and missed the target.

I have mean accuracy with a bibi gun though..

Anyone deal with Boyd's stocks? Also, anyone have any experience with www.sportsmansguide.com I know they are local, are they stand-up guys and sell exactly what they advertise?

I was looking at a .308 match barrel they had for the K98, but now I am looking more into my choice in round. The 7mm-08 Rem is looking very appealing to me at this time.

Who can tell me how much power/bullet size difference there is between a 9mm and a .40cal???

It all depends on how the cartridge was loaded. Projectile weight can vary greatly as well as powder charge. There are loads for .40cal that carry less down range power than most 9mm and then there are loads for the .40 that are far superior in velocity and power. It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want to shoot at targets all day a lighter load wont beat you up as much, but if you carry, a "knock down" load with hollow points is your best bet.

If you want exact bullet weight and powder charge numbers check out Hornaday. They have some good books on reloading and ballistics if your interested.
