The wifey and I have been talking about starting up a membership at a fitness center. I want to know what are people paying these days for memberships if you don't mind posting.
lifetime fitness around 40 a month for gold. Its low because i have a founders membership. My friends have payed about the same but you will have to do some bartering to get the price down. oh and its for a single membership.
They have a good point...barter. I have in the past, and have friends that have done it at LA Fitness recently
I bartered my fee. I told them what we were getting at 24 hour fitness before they closed ($40/Month 2 People) and I had friends who go the $50 for 2 people at La Fitness. Then I also said no activation fee. They will do it for you.
you telling me you don't know how to lie? tell them that you got a better offer at another fitness place or tell them that you want the same rates as one of your buddies that goes to that gym. It is really that simple.
LA FatNess? Tell them that you'll be just like 90% of their membership base and stop going after the first couple months. And while you are there, all you'll do is walk or bike in place like a hamster anyway.
what i would recomend to do is go to any of these gyms and get a feel for them. lifetime members have guest passes they can use. try that out and you can use that to your advantage. just look for what you and the wifey want in a gym and go from there. fyi lifetime has different levels of membership. almost all the lifetimes i have been different offers to give you.
It depends what are you looking to do in the gym. If you need free weights and cardio only then anytime fitness or snap is one of theoptions. Plus they are open 24/7. LA and Y are ok, Lifetime is better but it's more $$$. It also depends on what time you are planning on going too. LT is always packed after 5pm and early in the morning. Usually single membership at LT without insurance is around $60 a month. But you get a lot of free classes and sauna. Family membership at LT is $110.
Just for me(1 person) it's $15/month and I think I paid $50 to sign up and for the 1st and last months payment but I can only go 3 times a week which is fine with me. Fitness19
We are leaning more towards LA Fitness since many friends and family are going there. Thanks for the replies fellas.
IMO Id say get into a Jui Jitsu or Thai Boxing class... you learn a life long skill and lose weight/gain fitness... in 2 weeks when I started I lost 14 pounds.... I have had a gym membership for over 3yrs now and have gone to a normal gym 3-4 times in that period... standing looking at myself lift those 5pd weights doesnt do it for me hahaha...
