Yeah, it's going through the southern suburbs now. http://www.wunderground.com/radar/r...lutter=0&showstorms=99&rainsnow=0&lightning=0
We only got small hail where I am at in EP. So happy since my car was just painted, I didn't want to deal with hail damage. With the size we had I should be ok.
We got some quarter size stuff, the hood of the car parked right outside my office window got dented pretty bad
really? uh oh ... we have heavy rain but no sirens yet. The cat is hiding from the thunder ... but the sky does look a little green ..
It was crazy in EP! Got pitch black out! Only a little bit of hail, but I deliberately parked under a lot of tree cover and next to a big SUV...so I think I'm fine.
we got dime sized hail here in mound. I woke up to tornado sirens and a huge branch on my poor little geo.
whoa, basement garage at work was flooded and my car was in there:eek4: Thank goodness it was only up to the sideskirts
Got hit pretty bad in Minnetonka at work... Anywhere you guys recommend to get estimates? Hood has about 20 small/medium size dents
Sounds like we may get some more over night tonight, also tomorrow evening. Our yard needs the rain, but the severe **** can stay far away.
out of all of this...I got one dent on my roof We ever have gb pdr's? I need one in my trunk taken out too...
Worth a shot ... http://youtube.com/watch?v=x0bJd2HPc_k It didn't harm my rental and took most of it out
possibility for a second round of hail/damaging winds tonight... http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=mpx&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=no
There were fire's out on 44 and 110 in Minnetrista yesterday. A Yaris rear-ended a Minivan pretty bad, a person down the street had a try fall on their house, it's a pretty massive one too. Ermmm - power went out down the street and all through Navarre but that's about it. Hail was nothing to worry about IMO out here.
Thanks for the recommendation predavore, great shop. He said I got probably $3000-$3500 in damage. I saw some old threads on here about carbon fiber hoods not being the greatest in Minnesota winters ... are there any that are okay? I figure since it will probably be cheaper to replace anyway I would take a look.
IMHO, cf hoods are ugly, ricey, and have absolutely no benefit over your aluminum hood. This is assuming you have a WRX/STi. Just get another stock hood and save my eyes from burning if I ever see your car.
No love for the CF, haha. I didn't think it would look rice on my car WRX since it is black, but it was one of my concerns. I suppose there is a reason you don't really see any subies with the Cf hoods. I think my main motivation is probably not feeling so bad about the hail damage on my car I got like 3 months ago. Kinda like if life gives you lemons, make it into carbon fiber hoods.... poor logic
We're supposed to get pounded again tonight. With how hot it is outside right now I wouldn't be surprised. There's a dip of cooler air starting around Duluth, and another out in the Dakota's. I hope it comes sooner than later since I'll be sweating my butt off in the garage.
Damnit...do I stay in and be bored all night to avoid hail, or do I go have fun and risk it? I think I'll be playing guitar hero all night
Definitely not looking good out in Maple Grove... While I was outside looking at it, the wind changed direction about 4 times...and it looks exactly like it did before yesterdays storms Looks like tonight will be occupied by beer drinking, wii playing, and tv watching with the car safely in the garage
http://www.wunderground.com/radar/r...lutter=0&showstorms=99&rainsnow=0&lightning=0 1.50in hail coming in a bit over 1 hr, maybe :eek4:
I took very similar pics.. I ran back in to video tape the ones above me as they were swirling in different directions heading to one mass.. kinda worrying for a bit then by the time I grabbed the video and came outside they were gone... crazy... I wonder if we'll see hail in rochester...... I hope not, I'm going over to a friend's in a few. -Steve
