    Check out the Rochester based Hardcore Computer website to see some absolutely sick computers. They submerge them in oil to cool them.

    They also have job openings if anyone is interested.

    Whoa! I'm drooling all over my keyboard..but I don't think I could ever justify spending that much dough on a PC when I'm just a casual gamer..

    that thing has an IC. But damn $5500. Random question. I built my computer about 1.5years ago and want to run my computer in SLI mode but my graphics card is out of production. Does anyone know if there is a website that sells discontinued computer parts?

    ^^^ Check out Tiger Direct and Ebay. Which card are you looking for specifically? Also SLi isn't all that worth the dough imo..

    Oh yeah, I'm on it like a cheap suit.
    I just want to see what they've got for an office and ask some questions. I'm very interested in stuff like this.
    Also, it's probably one of the cooler things I've seen in this town in a while.

    haha its not that bad... :) i have seen a submerged PC in person...but on a bigger scale...more like it was a super computer...pretty cool

    i've been told you can use distilled water which im probably going to try out just to see...

    im always interested in trying crazy ****...just once i get enough money to do so

    They have patented designs utilizing a synthetic coolant, based off of soybeans. Sounds slick.

    i've looked into 'oil' cooled pc's before.
    i believe it has to be some very good mineral oil.
    i had this old 486 that i was going to test it on but ever got around, oh well.

    I would use new parts unless you want to be stirring around a dust bath.

    Pure water works. But, water has a tendency to attract impurities very quickly so it can only be done in a super-clean environment. If it's tried in the home...good luck.

    i would need a EVGA Geoforce 8600gt 256mb. Yeah you are probably right, even some of the lower cards now will blow mine away even in SLI mode

    Most benchmarks show that a single 8800GT/GTX will outperform SLI'd 8600GTs.

    just get a single 9800 and be done. Or, a Radeon HD 4870. :)

    selecting all the high stuff $13990... for that sort of money I would want it to cook, clean, do my laundry and other ;) stuff
