Hartley Enterprises Hayabusa v8

This is one of the coolest motorhead thigns I've come across in a while. 2 Hayabusa top ends mated to a custom bottom end to make a 2.6l v8.

Well it is a motorcycle engine. You don't need much torque if you put it in a 1500 lb car.

 

......Or a 500 lb go-kart/deathwish.

That torque curve is better than most 2.0L WRXs, lol.

Yeah, I didn't even look at it until now, but that torque looks pretty flat to me. That was a pretty early version of the motor, too. Not sure why there's a big jump up around 6000 rpm. Maybe that's where the intake runners become the right length. That's with stock Hayabusa heads, too. There's all kinds of P&P and cams available for those things from all the drag racing people do. Not to mention turbo kits . . .

 

I found the engine for my MR2. :-D.

Who here thinks they could do that swap? haha

i disagree about the fail-bound part b-series minis are kickass, but do agree that that motor would be much more bad ass.

bhiku just picked up my wife's '82 in St. Louis for us. I have mini parts-a-plenty on their way back to the states

 

I doubt that its going to be at all cheap. Anyways should be coming out soon. whever soon is.

 

With FWD, not likely.
