I have done a bit of research (and searching), but I still have a couple questions regarding heads.

    What's the advantage/disadvantage of +1mm valves?

Anyone use Brian Crower cams (272)?

With almost 130k on my 02 heads, would it be wise to get new valves, springs/retainers, shimless buckets, and cams, along with some porting?

I plan on throwing a gt30r in it eventually, along with meth. But it'll be running on a 20g until after break-in at least. Also, the ej257 swap will be underway on Monday when the motor is pulled.

    Thanks,
    - Justin K.

I would just get a pnp job and throw new seals all around and call it good, I would build the internals before getting cams and things of that nature.

I'm sticking with stock internals except for some Mahle pistons. I think that should be fine for a gt30r...at least internally. The rods should hold. Maybe some ACL bearings or something to boot.

yes, the rods are fine but the pistons are the weakpoint in those engines. acl bearings and pistons will be just fine for 400whp

And that's about what I'm looking to get anyway (400whp). I want to save as much cash as possible, but still have a reliable setup.

I haven't purchased the pistons yet, but I can get a pretty nice deal on the Mahle's from Josh over at Import Image :) Are the Wisecos new?
