Today i got a BS ticket, running a red light. I was heading to lake waconia and got pulled over on highway 5 in carver county. I was driving a 97 dodge ram with a 21ft 3k lbs bass tournament boat. The light turn yellow and i was about 100ft away, the trooper was on my ass, didnt want to slam the brakes on him, let alone i could not have stopped in time so i gunned it to pass the light, it turned red as i crossed the intersection. A sti stops from 60 to 0 in over 100ft but it has brembos, mine has a BOAT! how the heck can i stop in time?????? For a 55mph zone, that yellow light sure didn't last long as well.

Anyways, was wondering, If i wanted to appeal it to a hearing officer. Do i go to one in carver county or can i just go to the one in where i live? OH btw, NO one has posted a topic on this so if you tell me to use the search button, might as well just don't post at all. Or if you do have the link on it, do link me.

has to be in the county where you got the ticket. Doesn't matter if its in your county. Some counties won't let you see a hearing officer until an appointed court date, call the number on the ticket and ask is the best thing to do.

just pay it. Its less of a hassle. You'll save more time and $$ if you pay it.

Dude if the Trooper was on your rear, you should of at least made a visable effort to show you intended to stop and therefor could not make it. At least you would of had an opportunity to defend yourself if the Trooper decides to pull you over after that. I obviously dont have all the facts, but that doesnt matter, from your choice of actions he probably thought fisherman in a hurry to get to the water and driving with a huge load carelessly.

Go schedule a hearing day and vouch that you saved someones life at the ZOO and was on TV, this will definately get you out of this ticket, and by the way how much is it these days?

If it makes you feel better, LVT-if I was a cop, I would let you off the hook...............after you bring me some fish! LOL

in the immediate future you will but in the long run with higher insurance due to a moving violation on your record for 3 years it will save you money to fight it.

    You're interested in Subd. 5(a) - (2)(i)

If you already had crossed the intersection line you are fine. Go talk to the judge/hearing officer and explain your actions/reasoning.

I'd fight it to the bitter end. Unless its a four hour drive or something like that.
