Was wondering if anyone has these and if they like them? http://www.realtruck.com/product/45...0_subaru_wrx_mount_brackets_he-h84950771.html
just make your own, I made some for my hella 500ff's and they barely fit in the stock housing area, not sure how the even larger 1000's could even fit w/o sticking far out.
On the picture it looks like they fit fine. I think i want to take the bar off but still want to keep the lights. And i want to still be able to use my fog light covers.
You don't need the brackets. Just like you don't need them for the 500s. You just have to drill a hole in the right place. Buying the mounts will be less work, however.
And would think its pretty hard to aim them if you dont have the brackets. I wounder if they will work well in that location as driving lights.
Aiming is the same. Snug the adjuster, but not so tight you can't move the light. Mount lights. Adjust. Take lights off (without messing up adjustment) and tighten the adjustment down solid. Then reinstall. Same process with our without the brackets. The brackets will hold the light in place a lot more solidly, while there will be some wobble to the light if you just bolt it to the bumper cover and the sheet metal plate behind it. As for location, it's not ideal. Driving lights work better mounted as high as possible, but below the driver's line of sight. But that doesn't mean they won't do a good job in the fog locations, just that it won't be quite as good as up higher.
