My name is Japheth. I'm tangledupinblu's bro. A few of you know me. For a while I had the screen name "mnphotographer"... I didn't do much with it, mainly because I didn't have a Subie of my own. Until... NOW. I've been pretty envious of Josh's WRX for quite a while (and still kinda am) BUT, Saturday I became a FIRST TIME SUBIE OWNER! I'm now the proud owner of a 1984 GL Wagon. She's a 4-speed manual tranny with the standard 1.8. She's got a few miles on her but she looks great and drives like a dream. Unfortunately, I am going to be at a wedding in Bismark this weekend or I would be driving her to LAX! I've got big plans for her though... more to come soon. Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure.
Hmm... I can view them on my screen.? What are they doing on yours? It is my first time posting pics here so I'm sure I did something wrong...
Yes! We can see her in all of her glory and splendor!! Glad that you finally got your new account and pics up 5th...been waiting impatiently. Although i HAVE been telling everybody about it. So that has helped a little bit! lol
I am highly intrigued with what this forum software does for mobile users, when I zoom in on a pic, it squishes the pic sideways and deforms it. Makes for done odd photos Clean car nonetheless, even when deformed
I don't have any shots of the inside yet, but it really isn't much to look at. lol. I'm working on a full safari rack for her. Had a Surco (I can't say enough good things about this rack) on my old Exploder (aka, Sheen's old Exploder) which got mangled up a bit (mom tried to fit the Exploder in the garage... didn't quite make it under the door - she meant well). Tweaked out the damage, reinforced it and made it a little narrower to fit the top of the Wagon. Next comes a few coats of paint and the light bar. Looks like I'm gonna need someone to fabricate a brush guard for me... Then lights, lots of lights. Then probably switch out the seats- don't dig the springs up my... I'm thinking of installing some bamboo laminate flooring in the back hatch kinda like this: Thoughts? Well, I know those are all really cosmetic things, but hey, gotta start somewhere.
Wow man. That car is super clean looking... and 100% awesome! I don't think I have ever seen one of those in person. I hope you can make it out to Calhoun one of these days, I would love to check it out in person.
-For Sure. That's kinda what I'm thinking for it. Although, I have to be careful with the tires, cause this is gonna be my DD. I did find one major flaw in design though... NO CUP HOLDERS! Lol. Really only a problem cause I'm a coffee fiend. ... although it worked this morning, this just won't do.
OMFG my old Exploder?! It's still running? lol I have a set of hella 500ff's sitting around if you're interested... and Nick's welder...
-Dude, the Exploder doesn't hesitate... it hasn't since I got it from you. I would probably drive it another 100k if it didn't chug gas and if I hadn't found such a sweet vintage Subie. Hellas- I've got the lights from the Exploder, but outta curiosity what are you asking for em'?... some art on trade? ;-) Nick's welder- I don't think I know this person or their welder...
That exploder was more reliable and better in the snow than any subaru we've owned, but it's def a gas hog. Yeah, I'd trade for bike parts or art. these guys: http://www.amazon.com/HELLA-5750941-12-Volt-55-Watt-Halogen/dp/B001TWD5GY/ref=pd_sim_sbs_auto_1
I didn't realize that the Hellas were so inexpensive. I'm up for a trade. What do you need for bike parts? What art do you have interest in? Wait... are you sure you won't be needing the lights for the Porsche?
I need a new rear tire asap. Or a poster size or smaller print for the garage (car themed of course). The lights come with the white hella covers, switch, relay, and wiring. I was going to put the on the 4runner but realized I would never use them.
Tires are relatively inexpensive... don't know how fair of a trade that would be... I could prolly make a print for you. The real question would be do you want a print of the porsche to hang above the porsche?, lol, or something else?
It's true...i learned everything that i know from him. Except for "how to run full speed from a garage that has been funkdafied by an explosive ass", that i learned from Wilbur Bean Sheen. Except he doesn't run...he just puts on a Breathe Right strip and starts sucking air.
LMF'NAO. Sounds about right. But I was gonna say that he bottles it up and saves it for that special time when he is all alone for the night... Sheen! Don't light those candles! Or maybe gives it away to the neighbor children for Halloween?.. oh man, went too far that time. Sorry Sheenis, you know you are my gal.
Already part of the family... Dick and fart jokes FTW I was looking at those pics a little closer... I am pretty sure that i once lived in a house just behind where those pics were taken... Is your neighbor named Jamie? Fox... I forget his first name but he also has a dog and once worked for KQRS.
I lived at 2637 Dorman Ave S... Thats where the tree fell on the impreza DPS FTW... just by the pics http://goo.gl/maps/Lzhq
The jokes... Damn, what a disfunctional family we must be :-p Dorman, yeah right around the away. IMHO, this is the best neighborhood in the city. Clean, quiet, and there is a family of bald eagles nesting right around the corner from me... Seriously.
FYI, I think it's kinda creepy that u r zooming in on the pics to figure out where I live... And then google mapping me... Stalker much? -yup, back to the jokes. Lol
I can't believe no one has pointed out the best thing about this car yet. the fact that the spare is in the engine bay.... along with the metal jack. The paint on the car looked great when i saw it in Tuesday. Very clean car and fantastic 80's color.
Only cool cars get spare tires in the front. Mine's not quite large enough to fit an engine, but it holds a dainty little suitcase or 2 cases of beer just fine:
You guys must have std's... Always packing spare rubbers in the front Also it has been proven that I maybe a stalker: The GPS link was so Josh could figure out where you live... He is not all that good with directions... He calls me DPS cause I can get to just about any address more better than any GPS
This conversation is beginning to make me feel uncomfortable... lol. GPS- yeah, I need to invest in a new GPS system, the cover has fallen off and the pages are showing some major wear. Fortunately, I can get a crisp, clean, new one for like $9.99 at almost any gas station in the country.
Touche salesman... touche. I was going for road atlas... of course YOUR mind would go right to granny porn, but then again naked old ladies are are always on your mind aren't they sir?
