somehow my ac is not working at all, sweatin my balls off til I turned all the way on and all this sudden hot air comes throu the vents. SHIZZLE!!!! I changed the water pump and the timing belt on the winter season along with the coolant fluids. the question is, where to check it once I open the hood. help needed urgent. now is 90 degrees out thur!!!!
AC is to the right of the alternator. turn on the AC in the car and go make sure the AC pump is engaged and is all spinning. there are some plugs on top of it, try wiggling those. if everything works (ie pump spins, belt there, ect...) you need a freon recharge.
If you've been using your AC a lot in the past, I suggest you go get a refill at an AC Service station. There's one over in Blaine here (County road 10 - 1 mile east of Northtown mall) that will do it for $~60 (one of the best prices for a refrigerant refill if you'd ask me). I don't recall the name of the place. Last time I went with Herc's car, they filled it up and noticed that I had a leak somewhere. Instead of charging me for the refrigerant they used, they just referred me to a shop closeby to get the AC line replaced and to come back and they'll be happy to refill it again.
just go to walmart and buy a coulpe bottles. they also sell the hose that you need to hook up to your car to put it in
I have heard people say that doing it yourself with bottles may not be the best option. Of course it is the cheapest, but you want a certain pressure set in your AC system. Just bolting on a bottle or two w/o a guage may not get you the same results as you expect.
If you have a leak in the line connecting the bottle from wallyworld will only be a small temporary fix. There will be air in the lines that needs to be pulled out. When a shop fills your A/C system they first pull a vacuum on the lines and then fill the system to the correct pressure with R-134a, unless you have a pretty old car (pre '94 or so), then they fill it with Freon or convert it to R-134a and fill it. Go to a shop- pay the $60 to get it filled and see if you have a leak.
agrees.... and if you put the cheap 5hitty stuff in witht eh sealant most shops wont touch it unless you want to pay $6000 for an a/c recharge when you replace their equipment... and to find someoone who only charges $60 for the whole service.. man I will drive my customers cars there and come back... our freon costs $60 for the service +labor.... freon prices have gone through the roof... ridiculous... also you can put htose cans in but some vehices have to be precise - too much freon wont work - not enough freon wont work... but people can be as cheap as they want too.. just dont complain when you get what you pay for...

you know....if your belt is broken....it won't have AC....... that's how one of my friends were. He was like..oh shoots no AC....look here and there....then FINALLY noticed the snapped belt. if not that, then...get a recharge.
Nope my belts are still fine, they are techinically like new, so it can't be the belts. I think is just need to be recharged froen stuff. So, where can i get it for cheap?
K-mart charge about $25 for a 18oz bottle find out how many oz your car takes....if you want to make it more easier make sure you get the one with oil and seal leak...just did mine yesterday its nice and cold....
and then pay for the next stores machine if you ever get it fixed professionally... sealant kills the a/c machines... new machine... $3000+ price on customers face for going cheap in the first place and now costing more than car is worth 'PRICELESS'
