My new springs are supposed to be in on thursday and i was wondering if anyone in the club could spare a couple of hours and help me install them on friday.. i do not have a spring compressor but i do have basic tools.. i could drive to your house as long as its not to far from the cities. thanks for any help

well me and a friend who drives a 240 are going to attempt to do it in my parents garage thursday night.. assuming the springs arrive on time.. if anyone wants to stop by and lend a hand or watch theyre welcome
What time? Nathan and I just did mine last weekend, so I'm an expert now I could stop by after the kids go down (9pm-ish)

yeah make sure you double check that you tighten all the bolts... ha ha ha Mark will tell you I am sure... tiredness is no excuse for not checking things...:eek4: Never should have said it was going too easy before we had it finished... ha a
haha gotchya. i would have loved to have been able to come in and have them professionaly installed but im super low on money right now. hopefully everything goes smooth also i know ill need an alignment very soon after so im planning on running down to your shop firday afternoon. again if anyone can lend a hand tommorow after noon around 1-130 i would appreciate it
wish I could but will be working or making it look like I am...ha ha ha really it isnt that hard... just made it a lot easier having a hoist and air tools...
Who said professionaly ??? Nathan did it :eek3: No seriously, it only took 3 different socket sizes, and the springs were so much smaller we almost didn't need a spring compressor. Its obviously faster with an air compressor (to get wheels off faster, stubborn bolts ....) Just remember to pull the back seat out first and pay attention to what whent where. Its a good idea to have liquid wrench and a hose to rinse things off. And check everything before you drive off!! He didn't charge that much and i we learned alot. And I got an allignment at the same time
i might be free. i can talk to chux who might have some spring compressors (those things are scary!).
your biggest pain is going to be the lower bolts on the struts. use plenty of liquid wrench and a big cheater bar. the bolts may be a little easier for you because your car is only a couple years old.
IMO, the biggest pain is trying to line up the strut/springs to the top mount and make that fit and line up with the body and wheel hub. The fronts especially because it pivots to allow steering.
thanks for all the feedback.. my friend is coming over with the compressor and i have most tools so it shouldnt be too hard.. also if martin does decide to come i really wont worry i know hes messed around with suspension before
