Hey everyone, looking to see if anyone has experience, locally, with Autometer EGT gauges... I had my exhaust manifold tapped to 1/8NPT, but the sensor doesn't fit right, it is loose (tap is confirmed to be correct). Based on the research I have done, Autometer only makes a 1/8NPT fitting so it must be damaged. Has anyone had any luck purchasing parts for Autometer gauges locally? I don't have time to wait for something to be delivered from Summit. I can only hope a new part will work...! Thanks in advance!
I had one in my WRX but Speedlab installed it and never had any problems. I still have the probe if you want to try that one.
the thing you need to remember about npt taps is that they are tapered. If you tap the hole all the way to the last thread, it will be too loose to tighen up. i am using a autometer egt meter with a westach probe and haven't had any problems. Did you run the tap all the way to the last thread or about half way? Russ
WRX1, I had a machine shop do it, they were the ones that noticed it initially. They noticed it because I left the fitting with them to ensure they didn't tap it too far. We discussed it when I picked the manifold up... the tech is the one that suggested it was the threads because you could not "see" the taper on the used fitting. We looked at a fitting that was new and you could see the slight taper, but the fitting I had didn't look tapered (that got me off looking for the possibility that it wasn't NPT). Dream, Could I try yours out? Where are you located? Are you willing to sell the probe if it works? I will email you.... Thanks!

Sent you an email, Erik. Unfortunately, I need it before this weekend, if I can use it for the weekend. Could we arrange for a pick-up tonight or tmorrow night? Thanks again!
