Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my open source tune. the car is an 03 wrx with vf 39, frontmount, 840 cc injectors and all the other stuff. I had mike tune it when clark had his tune weekend. My gas mileage as been terrible lately and I don't know whats wrong because I don't know too much about the tuning. i'd love to learn how but I just don't wanna screw anything up. I'm just wondering if anyone could take a look at some logs I have. I don't know how to post them but I can email them if someone is willing to take a look. I can pay someone to take a look at it but I need this done by the weekend because I'm coming down to the rallyx and I don't want to burn another full tank to get there. Please help!, post your email and I'll send you the tune. Thanks, Joe

Posting logs would be useless without posting the current ROM.

how would I do that, plug into the ecu and read rom on the ecu, then post that along with the logs? I do have a tatrix cable so I can do that

I can email anybody else the map if they want to look at it. I finally got around to looking at the logs just now. Congratulations BTW Joe, for being able to actually create good logs. You're 9 steps ahead of most people.

The fueling is being weird because of those huge modded stock injectors. The one afternoon I had the car wasn't enough time to futz with the MAF scaling to make the fuel delivery linear. I'll try to do a few more map revisions over the internet to get it sorted.

You can download and save the current ROM image from your ECU using ECU Flash.

Ahhhh, might want to rethink that. You don't mess with the AIR to tune the FUEL.:ugh: The MAF scaling is for the air going into the motor, so if you have a intake then you adjust the maf scaling. If you are adjusting the maf scaling it get the fuel trims close, you are asking for trouble.

Tweaking the MAF scaling in the low end maf voltages to keep the ltft in check is a very common technique when working with modded stock wrx injectors.

Even Jorge has been known to do it.

Basically there's two main ways to dial in modded stock topfeed injectors:

    1. Set the injector scalar to zero out fuel trims at idle and then fudge the crap out of your open loop fueling table to get reasonable wideband readings. Basically you might need to enter 12.5:1 targets in your map to achieve 11:1 wideband readings.

    2. Set the injector scalar at WOT to match up wideband readings with your map targets. Then you need to mess with the closed loop MAF scaling voltages since the fuel trims will usually get jacked at around idle.

Take your pick. Most people seem to use #2 from what I've seen.

Or you could just get a standalone :slayer:

But that may not be the most cost effective.

Take a trip to P&L (Chicago) and have Jorge tune it, or wait for another dyno day.

I have no doubts with mikes ability to tune, its just gonna take some more time. we only spent an hour on the road tuning it. he already sent me a map and the gas mileage got a little better but it still needs revisions

I just needed someone to take a look at the tune because mike was busy and I didn't know if it would be done by the weekend. Now mike has started to work on it so I don't really need anyone to look at it. as far as I know mike has it taken care of
