Hey everyone, As some of you know I used to have a 02 wrx and an 08 wrx...well right now I have an 05 legacy outback and want to go back to a wrx or sti...I messaged a guy in Chicago about a 2006 sti, I'll post the link up. Let me know if you think its good deal or not? Any opinions or comments help =) Thanks!! http://myfox9.carsoup.com/used/deta...9MTUmeT0xNyZwYWdlbnVtPTMmc2VhcmNoaWQ9SjE0MTkz
Looks nice! if you can swing an 07 do that, some one mentioned to me that getting an 07 rather than 06 STI may be a better purchase?. I think along the lines of better tranny (shifting)... but what do i know. GL
Sticker on the window says $20,950 and the price on the website says $21,950. Which is it? If it's perfect, I say $21k is a good deal.
I noticed that as well so I was kind of curious lol I messaged the guy so hopefully he will call me tomorrow.
I went to chicago to get my car too... Get as much info on the car as possible, if it sounds like a good idea, go down there and low ball the heck out of em', the salesman knows u drove a long way, so he know u wont just be stopin by again if u walk out! Worked out for me in a similar situation sick lookin car btw!
carfax!!! Then fallowed closely by asking for a ****load of pics of the car to make sure it is in acceptable condition. Pics of engine bay, doors, seats, door cards, trunk lid, bumpers...... Don't want to drive to chicago to find a STi that has a front end covered in rock chips, and chips all the way down the side.... I would also make a call to your insrance agent about this choice.
very true.. and if you do drive down there and its not the car you thought it was don be afraid to walk away from the deal. wasting 5 hour drive and gass is still better then having a car full off problems in your drive way. The blue book on this car in excellent condition is $24K. So that is a pretty decent deal. Also if you want a name of a good independent mechanic in the Chicago area that does a lot of work on Subarus (mostly imprezas) let me know. Might be able to toss him a couple bucks to take a deeper look at it.
'07 had slightly revised gearing, but also when engine issues started cropping up. 05-06 are generally considered the most solid choice. As for the '06 in question, fewer miles might be nice, but if it hasn't been molested 21k seems like an OK deal.
Not a bad deal, I got my 06 STI in May for that and it had 23K miles from BMW Motorwerks so it was just down the road. Like others said if you don't like walk away I drove down to Kanasas city for a car got down the car didn't look like what it did in the pictures and I walked away, best thing I did because I got the car I wanted because I waited.
There was an 06 at the st cloud Subaru. Opb with 70,000 or so miles. A guy on here had it. In nice shape and was completly stock until the last 4000 miles it was stage 2.
that 06 from stc subaru was beat to hell....i bought 2 cars from stc subaru now, and they give pretty good deals and usually have sti's on the lot. syrie the car looks nice....i'd offer them $20k for it, and if its in good shape, i'd take it!
