What's up? I've been in love with Subarus for a couple of years now, hoping to get an '04/5 STi or '09 WRX soon. Many of you may of known me on NASIOC or /r/Subaru, if not, well I'm Andrew I currently reside in Plymouth, and I go to the Wayzata High school. I hope to get to know each and everyone of you in the foreseeable future
Wish I could have driven a WRX or STi in high school... Damn spoiled kids these days. Instead, I had one of these. Welcome!
Nope, parents aren't paying for any of it. They told me "If you want a car, you're going to have to pay for it yourself".
That's rough! At least my parents were generous enough to pay for half. Sorry to hear that man, but it just means that you have to work harder! I may have a WRB WRX for sale this summer. Price would probably be in the $3,500-$4,500 range. Start savin some duckets!
That's alright! I got the same speech, but I saved up $1500 and bought my car the day I turned 16. I swear you'll appreciate it more if you buy it yourself. That said, waiting sucks, so nothing but good luck in your search for your car!
It's rough, but they explained that I shouldn't rely on them for expensive things like a car. They said they'll gladly pay for the insurance, so I'm incredibly grateful for that It's rough, but hey, it teaches you life goals ! I have money saved, but I'm just not in the market for a car yet... What year is the car?
I just noticed your Signature, did you happen to be at work on Saturday, November 8th, of last year? Me and my dad test drove a '15 WRX, and the guy that let us do it, was really into Subarus. He was in rally and everything.
Would you be interested in a 2006 wrx sedan? Would be pretty close to stock. 71 thousand ish miles priced at about 13,000
Yes. I'm looking for a motor to put in it. It would be priced at that price for a reason tho. It has some blemishes. I've owned it for 12 years and miss it all of the time! You can't see all of the imperfections in the pic. But there is some rust, hail damage, and of course a black bumper. But it gives you an idea anyways.
It would be this car, but with my motor, trans and turbo in it. http://mnsubaru.com/threads/2006-wrx-rotated-30r.48759/
d'awwww old blue! I received the same talk growing up. Its a bummer not getting any help, but I think it helps appreciate things more.
Yep! I grew up in Iowa and it took for-ever to save up enough for just half of the car that i wanted. And it was less than 2k for the car, lol. You will appreciate the hell out of your car once you own it because it is all yours and you've earned it. Your parents are pretty awesome for offering to pay the insurance. Ultimately, that costs more than the car usually!
August will probably be pretty realistic as far as finding a motor, making it right, and getting it all put back together. So yeah!
My first car was a 1989 Mazda 323. Treat it with respect if you get one. I learned a lot driving the first few years. If I would have had a WRX or STi, I would have gotten in sooooooooo much trouble, lol. Congrats if you can make it happen. They are amazing machines.
The car I started driving on was a 99 caviler z24 auto. Quick car, dont get me wrong, but total chick car lol. Then for the first car I bought, a 93 fullsize Blazer. I had a lot of fun with that including having the muffler fall off and seeing it 10 ft in the air and land in the weeds on the road. Then I had a shop take tubing straight back from the cat and out in front of the back tire. But had to sell it cause it was leaking gas from the return line and I didnt have the money to fix it and needed money for school. Then just a couple yrs ago it was up at park and sell on 65 and bunker and I was so tempted to buy it again but it had over 200k on it and they wanted a lot of money for it and I had a vehicle already
Cavaliers are bad ass, I just wouldn't buy one haha. My cousin had one, Midnight blue with black wheels.
Welcome! I bought my first car with my own money at 16 and my parents helped with the insurance. It was a 83 grand prix that i bought for $1200. Absolutely loved that car and took great care of her too. Looked exactly like this one, except my chrome wheels were a little different. Lol i made sure that the muffler "fell off" right away, aka i took it off and told my parents it fell off. That 305 was surprisingly quiet for having no muffler.
First car here was a 1969 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 with 3 on the tree. Still one my most favorite cars I have ever owned. Brush painted military flat black. Was like Jeep's 'roided up older brother.
I always thought of the Hummer as a 'Roided Jeep... That's a cool looking car. Even the new Gen LCs look amazing.
