where to get hitch for the Subie? Does Fleet Farm or the auto store sell them without having to order?

How much you think it could pull and tongue weight. I'm just looking to pull 1 or 2 snowmobiles on an alum trailer. I also have stock springs with bad shocks lol

direct from subaru or on line, don't waste time at fleet farm or a parts store they are not usually willing to help when you say hitch and subaru.
i have pulled probs close to 15-1800+ with my STi, horrible gas mileage, dont use cruise it works well enough for the few times a year i need to trailer something. as far as tongue weight idk what mine was at.

    be smart.

Try Rigid Hitch. I had one of their hitches on my Talon. Super low profile. A fraction of the size and weight of the universal ones. The design was for the vehicle and fitment was great. I do not know if they make one for your car or not, but if they do it is probably much better than the universal style without being much more expensive. Also, they are local, which is always good to support. I expect it would be 2,000lb capacity.

When I picked up my class 3 hitch for the FXT etrailer.com was by far the cheapest and I received a free wire harness adapter with my order.

good info on hitches ... I'm considering installing hitch, and am interested to know if my 07 Impreza Wagon has any of the wiring already in place, or if I will need to purchase the wiring kit. Also interested in comments on different manufacturers. I liked the etrailer.com site, which provided free shipping for hitch kit, wiring harness, and ball for just under $200. I plan to install the hitch with a friends help at http://firstgeargarage.com/ in Eden Prairie.

Finally: would installation of a hitch kit prevent future upgrade cat back exhaust?

Former 02 WRX wagon was flooded last summer, now my ride is an 07 Impreza wagon 2.5i.

Thanks in advance for constructive criticism and commentary.

Your car is wired for a SUBARU hitch harness. You can use a subaru wiring harness with a non subaru hitch though, they are around $100 mnsubaru price.
