Has anyone else seen this? Subaru's new wagon concept... http://www.autoblog.com/2011/11/30/subaru-advanced-tourer-concept-is-an-awesome-angry-wagon/ If they make it and it comes out close to this I will buy it.
Uhhh, no. It's a wagon, not the new BRZ. It's way more badass than the new RWD car. Did the link not work?
I think I just found the replacement for my wife's car. Please Subaru, make this and put the STI drivetrain in it. Pretty, pretty please...
^^^ Brian by the time they make this I think it will have been 2 years... If you're catching my drift.
Oh yes, but I don't think you'll want the wife's car You and Eli may have to duke it out for the hatch. He'll be ready to get out of the Chevrolet by that point, at least I hope he'll be ready. That thing is breaking my heart.
Sorry, I was at work and didn't get a chance to read over it... just a chance to take a peek at the pics. Sorry for asking... but if I remember correctly Subaru tends to make both WGNs and sedans (except Forester) using both the same motor and drivetrain options for most models. Actually I have like the WGN in every model except the Gen 5 Legacy. If I read correct (rarely am I correct) the BRZ is a N/A 2.0... Guess I expected more... And doesn't this new WGN have a 1.6 hybrid?
Uh, you guys have learned nothing. Compare this concept to the recent Impreza concept that spawned the 2012 Impreza. The concept shown here has nearly identical lines. Which means they will dull it down considerably. Don't get your hopes up.
So long as they offer it in a turbo flavor... Of course the production model will be dulled. I'd settle for just about any decent turbo manual wagon option so long as it isn't hideous. I would have loved to pick up a 5th gen legacy wagon if they were offered here. Maybe this will fill that gap.
Doesn't it say 1.6l turbo electric (li-ion) hybrid mated to a [insert generic commercial terms that fool most people into thinking the ****ty slushbox feels less like an appliance than it really does] CVT? The only way they could make this car less enjoyable to drive is to make it a 3k redline turbo diesel hybrid... meaning, it will probably sell really well lol
Impreza Concept =/= 2012 Impreza 2012 Impreza = Boring driving appliance Therefore... Advanced Tourer Concept =/= 2013 Advanced Tourer 2013 Advanced Tourer = Boring driving appliance There's the math. Basicly, they're going to have this great concept with beautiful lines, and then they will sculpt it for production, where they will chop up the 3 windows into 5 windows using plastic uprights to make dinky little windows here and there that are useless and visually unappealing. Then they will take all those swoopy flowing lines and straighten them out and just make dumpy fender over-riders like a baja truck to compensate. Follow that up with pasting the current Subaru face on the front, removing the sculpted, contrasting dark colored, high end interior and replacing it with beige cloth and grey plastics, and the usual cast aluminum 17 x 7 wheels they put on the rest of their fleet. Then they will unveil it at one of the many 2012 auto shows in its production form, someone will paste the link to the pics, and we'll all groan at how it looks like a boring appliance car.
Of course they wont make a car that looks like this. And even if they did, it sounds like the chances of it having enthusiast approved power output is next to zero... But it's still a blast to look at.
Sad that's one thing I love about the subarus. Makes it look more aggressive then other little sedans driving around.
I would love to get my hands on that concept car though! Or at least headlights that look like those!
