My FXT loves it though. ;) Anyway, it is cold. My brother's Accord didn't start because the battery was too cold to make any juice.

Yup. Once a brotha, always a brotha. I used my limited knowledge of automotive expertise to jump his car. Then I went home. :)

Well the cold did bring back something I would not have missed had I gone with the Evo instead of the GT: lifter noise. I thought maybe the GT would have less for some reason but instead it has its own variant on that crazy noise. Seems I completely forget about that until it gets cold again when for a split second I think "WTF is wrong with my car"

-10F in Savage this morning! I love driving the car when it is that cold, it is an animal! The combination of the power and low grip of the snow tires = crazy oversteer out of corners.

Anybody else notice that their EGTs run lower in this weather? Mine are 50-75F cooler running @ 75mph on the highway. I couldn't believe it so I went on a 15mi cruise @75-80, the results were steady during the entire cruise...

Also, I am now confident in my turbo porting! I peak at just under 18psi in 5th, it was ~-5F at the time. (I run a Stealthback with no cat)

-14F according to the outdoor thermometer, -12F according to the car when I left the house this morning. I've had to park my car outside for the past couple weeks, and holy hell does this engine sound bad when it first starts in really cold weather. Start driving before it's warmed up, and it sounds like a damn diesel. :)

I'm also getting to experience the joy of shifting in cold weather for the first time. Boy, 10 second shifts sure are fun!

so far for tdays high i have seen 9.5 F lol. its wierd hearing that your cars arnt srtating right. i hav enevre garaged mine and it has started 365 1/4 days a year.

the lifter noise is kinda wierd, my dad first thought the car was broken and took it to the dealer last year lol. but its the new AVCS apparently it makes loud valve sounds until the car warms up and then you get the full benefits (like +20 hp)

has anyone else had problems w/ thier shocks freezing? or later when we get -F temps the speedo cable whining?

Oh yeah. If I hadn't had the heater plugged in on my RS it did not like to fire. However when the batter started getting low the low battery starter correction map would kick in and it would light up finally. Of course I'm certain all I was missing was the proper settings in my cold start correction map and I'd have been able to start up just as good as a stock RS. The Haltech had so many damn maps you could tune in it

Yes, it is a stranger sound than what I was used to with the RS. I just thought it was the extra noise from the DOHC engine, not the AVCS though.

i believe they are on the hood somewhere. possibly close to the windshield. the engine heat normally makes them off by 2F or so
