http://autoshow.autos.msn.com/autoshow/Detroit2008/Article.aspx?cp-documentid=6001833 I, for one and pretty excited to see more going TDI, the power, especially torque numbers that they can make are outstanding. beyond that, there are some other little tidbits here and there but hell, its a TDI R8!
23 MPG in my WRX @ 3.45 a gal vs 28 MPG in the TDI @ 4.10 a gal 13 (gal) x 3.45 = 44.85 23 (mpg) x 13 (gal) = 299 miles 299/44.85 = 6.67 miles per dollar 13 (gal) x 4.10 = 53.3 28 (mpg) x 13 = 364 364/53.3 = 6.89 miles per dollar Look at that I proved my self wrong, I still hate VW and Audi though.
but diesels fair better when you work them then a petrol engine... I am sure when you beat on it it will still get close to the same mileage... and have more torque.... whatever.. you are always right chet... you post then bitch out anyone who says anything different... ps.. you forgot yours doesn't get 23mpg.. your numbers are skewed cause you left half your gas on the driveway of the gas station!!!
they debuted it here, and there has been alot of talk that they will start to push TDI cars here more, we'll see i guess
With all that twist as low as 1750rpms I thought the 0-60 might even be faster. Make it in a 8cyl and smush it into an A4 Avant shell with S-Tronic! The TTS looks like a late model 350Z. Welcome to JDM-land Kraut lubbers.
i hope it has very good torque traction control or you will have to change tires on that thing pretty often. I guess if its awd it might be better than. I bet the acceleration on that thing will make you black out...
overall i am pretty stoked for the push to diesels overall, i am equally as excited about the turbo diesel subarus
Why are people talking about miles/dollar figures in a thread about a new 'supercar' that makes 737 lb-ft of torque is beyond me..... That thing looks and sounds like it would be fun as hell to drive. -Steve
