Okay...so I am totally using the forums for educational purposes. I am doing a survey for a research project at school, I was hoping you could take some time to fill it out for me? If you choose to take the survey, please read the directions carefully (otherwise you may find it to be somewhat confusing). It is completely anonymous and your answers are not linked to you in any way. Consent Form You are invited to participate in a study of parenting styles and conflict styles between children and parents. We hope to learn how parenting styles affect the styles in which children and adolescents conflict with their parents. You were selected as a possible participant in this study because you met the criteria for our research. This research is done for Bethel University Department of Communication Methods of Communication Research class, Spring 2009. No funding agency is involved. If you decide to participate, I (or: Amanda Ingle and associates) will provide you with a survey asking you questions about the styles of parenting in which you were raised. You will fill out the survey once, which will not take longer than twenty minutes. This survey should not cause any discomfort, and the only inconvenience would be the time that it takes you take the survey. There are not risks involved and there is no incentive for you to take the survey, except to help us out with our research. Any information obtained in connection with this study that can be identified with you will remain confidential and will be disclosed only with your permission. In any written reports or publications, no one will be identified or identifiable and only aggregate data will be presented. Your decision whether or not to participate will not affect your future relations with Bethel University in any way. If you decide to participate, you are free to discontinue participation at any time without affecting such relationships.
