Car runs normal, until you drive for like 10-15 minutes and then come to a stop light, sing etc. and then the car idles at any where from 2,000rpm-3,000rpm its always different every time. even if you give it a little gas to see if it will go away, it bogs slightly and then idles high again. almost dont need to push the gas to cruise at 30. And then these last couple times the check engine light has come on...... I always thought it was only in the summer when i had the AC on and the car idling for a while it would do it, but now i never have the air on and it seems to be worse. ?
    Car: '04 WRX
Mods: perrin turbo inlet, QTP d.p., gutted u.p., stage 2 flash

I am going to have my buddy flash it some time this weekend, but only if his system will work with my car. Any other ideas? And the first time i noticed it was when we were pulling into the pavilion in Wisconsin during the cruise.

Yeah, it would randomly do that at times. Try disconnecting the cruise control cable and see if that is the root of your problems.

Have you pulled the CEL code? It could be related to something like the IAC thingy in the throttlebody. Maybe you could try cleaning that also.

i dont have a real check engine light anymore... it goes off only if the hydra is having problems or as a shift light.

1+ for Tom's suggestion. Both 2004 rex's in the family did the same damn thing until I loosened the CC cable a few turns. Never happened since.
    2 minute fix

I never have thrown a code either.

The IAC will cause the idle to hover between 2,000-3,000 RPM. I say either your IAC is gummed up, or it's dead. If taking this unit off of the throttle body, make sure you have a replacement gasket handy. This gasket is soft like rubber bands but expands over time and you won't be able to reuse the original gasket.
