So technically I am not new, but this is new to me



Picked up this pile in St. Cloud. Had a MN Subaru sticker on it so thought I would let you guys know!

Besides hating life at idle she ran out pretty good. Got me home to Zimmerman and only stalled out twice. So she's got some quirks but hopefully I can get those sorted out soon.

So glad to be back to a subbie!

BTW, If anyone knows what this car has been through I would love to know. Looks to have had some mods done to it and would really like some details! If anyone knows anything give me a shout!

 

I'd start with cleaning maf IAC and pulling the map on the ecu

 

nice, but that hood scoop need to be replaced asap.

 

I will try the MAF and IAC this weekend. Don't have the necessary tools for pulling the map. I also heard that the TPS could also cause a bit of an idle issue?

Speaking of paint, sorry I'm going to use/steal this thread but do you guys know anyone who does good paint/ paint matching without having to blend?

Hahaha positive man! This one even came with a turbo AND a 5 spd!

I will probably paint the side pieces of the grill to give it a more stock look. Not sure what I am gonna do with the scoop yet.

Not too sure if I want to abuse this one just yet. We'll see after I get her running in tip top shape.

 

Without blending its just about impossible to match the color. There are so many factors involved: air temp, gun psi, solvent flashing temp, technique.

 

did you fix the idle issue? i had to adjust my cruise control under the hood to fix it on mine. good luck bro.

I don't have any pictures of the inside though.....

We got close. Had Nuke take a look at my tune and we think it was tuned for 850cc injectors but looks like I have stock ones installed. He flashed a base stage 2 tune and it idled like a champ! BUT, it wouldn't rev past 1/2 throttle so I am still running the old map. I've got a new turbo inlet coming since this one has a leak and I'll be going back once I get it installed.
