Hello, everyone. It's been a while since I've posted, but I thought you might be interested in this. October 20th 2012 marks the Impreza's 20th birthday. How do you plan to celebrate ? My club here in the UK will be paying Prodrive a visit... http://www.type-ra.co.uk/subaru-for...mpreza-WRX-20th-anniversary-event-at-Prodrive. Bye for now, Stuart.
Thanks for sharing... That is one day before our S4B cruise to St Cloud Subaru... So hopefully most of us will be heading up that way for an event of our own.
The gathering at Prodrive yesterday was brilliant. A bit of a foggy start, but then the sun came out and it was utterly glorious. Here's a picture (not mine by the way) to whet your appetites... That's the Timeline. 40 Imprezas (two from each model year) all lined up in chronological order. Once all of my pictures are finished uploading, I'll post up a link and a few of the highlights. And yes, the Heritage Centre was open.
OK, the pics are all uploaded. Amongst them you will see examples of P1, Spec C, Type-RA, 22B, Type-R, Cosworth, Litchfield, STi Wagon, WR1, RB5, RB320 etc. http://www.flickr.com/photos/stuartpowell/collections/72157631719351327/ The Heritage Centre was fabulous. This P2 is the car that made Jeremy Clarkson sick. DSCF2696 by stoooo, on Flickr Richard Burns won the Safari Rally in this. The rest have apparently been hidden away as gems for future generations to enjoy.) DSCF2633 by stoooo, on Flickr Bye for now, Stuart.
Stu, Did you clean up your car and drive it there? Last I heard Trish "mentioned" that it was a bit neglected. Cool shots for sure. Thanks dude!
Yep, got it cleaned a couple of weeks ago, topped her up with some of Shell's finest 99 octane brew, filled the battery back up with electricity, and put 364 extra miles on the clock. Happy days.
We were aiming to get 300 cars there. Judging by the number of pictures I took, I think we might have been slightly over that.
Well, I think it's been long enough now that I can post this without anybody kicking up a stink. Banzai Magazine, a UK tuner mag, gave us some space in their January 2013 edition. I even managed to get a photo credit, along with one of the other club members.
