Install rear main seal?

    So what do folks here use to install a rear main seal.

    I sure as heck don't have a socket large enough:ugh:

    So, tips?

    I use an underdriven crank pulley! Perfect diameter, and hits the right depth.

    We use a special tool, but what ever you use, make sure you don't push it in to far.

    How far in is it supposed to go?


    I don't know how to phrase that so it won't sound dirty.

    IIRC it just needs to be a flush fit.

    I have the automatic tranny plate that I use to push it in half way. I tighten 4 bolts and it'll push the seal in halfway. I take off the plate then use a LARGE socket and hammer to tap it in the rest of the way. I use the FLAT end of the socket where your ratchet fits onto. I'mma take one of these auto plates one of these days, put a rear main seal on it and use it was my rear main seal installer..... lolz Time to make my own tools...
