I am in search of something that gets better gas mileage and doesn't run on premium. I love my legacy gt but as a college student, it was a bad call. Definitely keeping it. But searching for something that is fun and less expensive. Must be a manual. Must have a clean title. Must be non turbo. Must be start and run. My budget is $2000. I know what I'm looking for is pretty much a unicorn. I would also prefer to have it under 200k on the chassis.

What is it? And is it way above or just barely above 200k?

And why does it have to be a manual? No one will question your manhood if you drive an automatic for a couple/few years. A manual transmission REALLY limits your choices for used cars. You need something dependable and low cost for your current needs (not wants). Getting your education completed should be your primary focus at this stage of life.

Thanks! I definitely had that cross my mind plenty of times too. I might end up just getting a Toyota or something. I just figured I would try here first. I just looked at a corolla and a couple civics. And I know that nobody will question my manhood, I just have a preference. But I do understand how difficult it makes things. I'm just seeing what's out there.

Can't go wrong with a Honda Civic with a 5 speed. 200k miles is nothing on those cars.

Look out west on CL, places like Portland or seatle, or down south in tx... You can get older cars for cheep cuz they don't rust. So there are just more of them. 1way ticket and drive it back. And stay under 2k
