So we made a long awaited stop at the Blue Door to have a Jiffy Burgers... Could possibly be the best burger I've had. Has anyone had it?

    You're all wrong.

The Nook or Shamrocks in Saint Paul (same owner/menu) has the best burgers ever.

I did the Shamrocks ' nookie supreme burger challenge', and I didn't like the cheese or It could have been the special sauce.
and no, I didn't finish it.

I don't know, the Jiffy Burgers was alright, I wouldn't get it again.
the wait was 30-45 min to get a table.

last week we went to the 5-8 club, 20-30 min. wait.
swiss lucy just tasted like a cheese burger, nothing big, but it wasn't bad.

now the Cajun Lucy (stuffed w/ Pepper Jack cheese and jalapenos) over at the groveland tap is great, but it's too small.

I haven't had any of the burgers listed, but I like Lion's Tap.

I heard the Anchor Bar in Superior Wisconsin shut down. It's a shame too since they possibly had the best burgers for the dollar anywhere. The Cashew burger kicked ass.

who cares where it is invented... a lot of things have been invented in the states but perfected elsewhere ;)

seriously though.. we have good burgers here.. but I think it comes down to the freshness and less additives back in Australia..

The Jiffy burger at the Blue Door is money! I've had Nook's lucy and wasnt really that impressed. Some sleepers in St. Paul are Backstreet Pizzaria & Grill, and Joseph's. They both have great burgers for a fair price. Kincaids has a damn good bacon cheeseburger, and their Signature Chophouse burger is excellent but comes with a big price tag. The American Burger Bar has a Kobe beef burger, I tried it once and didnt understand why they charged me $15 for it. It really wasnt any better than other burgers I've had there. (The BBQ burger special is the bomb!)

Best burgers (at least this far north) are hawk's bar and grille in monticello. Second is keith's kettle, in clearwater.

I have to say, my all time favorite Nook burger is the Paul Molitor. Give it a try sometime if you haven't. It's tough to beat their fries as well.
