Picked this up on monday. Loving it so far.
Told my friends about the purchase and got a lot of hilarious responses.
The best one that made me laugh was:

" Whaaa? Damn, son! You just graduated to instant rice-burning bad-ass status!"

5 speed manual with 25k on it.
Got 26.5 mpg on the way home from St. Cloud with it in 12 degree weather, and that was with a bit of spirited driving. Hopefully I'll get 29-30 with it this summer if i can keep my hoof out of it.
Was totally surprised by how much leg room there is and what 265hp will do in a car this size.

Must .... not.... mod.... warranty... will void...

Something tells me I'm going to lose that battle.
Especially after I saw that by tuning the stock setup i can get it to ~300hp/290tq.

Going to move my wide band and boost gauge over to it since i won't be using it in my 71 Dodge Dart anytime soon.

If your curious about the Dart go here.

Son... it's about time we had a talk about realistic expectations. ;)

Welcome, congrats and condolences. Not necessarily in that order.

Great looking car! Love the looks of it in black...BTW I'm pretty sure that if you use genuine Subaru parts it will not void your warranty, but this depends on what kind of deal you made with the dealership.

Either way Congratulations! Have fun with her!

    There. Or here. Sometimes both.
Yes, but there are no real performance parts from SPT that are worthwhile. Intake is pointless and I KNOW they don't sell catless exhaust bits...

    Nice ride, OP.

Welcome. I like the Subaru. I really like what your doing to that Dart! Fun stuff. I hope to see that out at some car shows this season. You should come up to Anoka on Saturday nights. Big classic car show every weekend throughout the summer. I've got an old 70's ride myself. Planning to turbo it next season. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1173105 There will be some viewable pictures on the last couple pages of the thread.

Not all people with car parts all over the house are bachelors. I had an engine in my kitchen for a solid month, on the stand, about 2 feet from the sink.

    Thanks for the welcome guys.

I'm waiting for my gauge pod from clustermaker to get here so i can get the gauges installed.

Can't do much to the WRX if i want the bodywork and paint done on the Dart.

Dude, your Dart build is fantastic. I hate asking for help on things, but your dash makes me want to touch you in naughty places and then pour you a beer. You interested in building a 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster dash? Pretty similar to what you did with the pre-Ralph-Nader flat panel thing and some Autometer gauges.

Maybe you could just come by and see it and drink beer and talk classic cars for a bit.

Thanks for the compliment about the Dart.

Building the dash was fairly simple, just very time consuming.
Do like I did and make a template out of cardboard, measure 6 times and cut once.

I'm teeter tottering right now if I should spend $595 on a Cobb AP or keep the money in the paint job fund for the Dart.

Do a tune with a local tuner and paint the Dart.

Hey readymix, just want to provide you with another option for a custom dash panel, check out www.realstreetonline.com. He has done several custom dash clusters. Lots of options out there, just wanted to spread the word.

I've thought about that option but if i need to take it in for any warranty work I want to put the stock tune back on it. If i did a pro tune with someone that means scheduling time with them to re flash it and then to flash it again after I'm done at the dealer.

Unless there is a mod friendly dealership around here.

I keep leaning towards the Cobb and AccessTuner Race.

There are generally other, cheaper options than a Cobb AP. I have one for my '10 leggy, but that's only because I don't have a choice with that specific model...
