Man, these HID lights are blinding, even during daytime! I finally got my 8k kit. Looks nice but way way too bright...I'll take some pics later, I hope I do not get pulled over...Now for sure I have to tint my headlights...the HID are brighter than my High beams...haha

Maybe you will be able to keep the car on the road a bit better now. Or maybe the ditch will just be a bit brighter.;)

Get the X5 8000k Conversion kit. Both me and driftin240 have that same kit. And they are 169.00 a set plus shipping. Yes, that cheap. I bought them for 280 and I know about 6 months later, driftin got them for alot less. They are a freakin' steal at that price. You can see them at Firestone next time I go.

Jason, I have a 02 wrx, can i get this done too? also how hard is the installation? I remember reading on Nasioc that our headlight assemblies don't work good with HID's as they are designed to reflect light from Halogen bulbs?:dunno:

I am new to this so pardon my ignorance.

^^^ How much does it cost, what do you need to make your fog lights yellow, is it a different bulb or some sort of film? I have an Black 02 wrx and these would look tight!

BTW +1 for HID's on an 02, will that $170 kit work and how difficult is it to install?

YEs, you can do 02's. Yes, the reflector pattern isn't perfect for HID...No, it should still be fine for daily use...ask driftin240, he has an 02 and the same kit I have. He can tell you all about it. I simply aimed my headlights slightly lower than what they recommended to avoid blinding people. I can still see signs down the freeway much farther than what I used to be able to, and they light up much nicer.

It is not a film. Pete put different bulbs in the fogs before I bought them. I will talk to him and see what they are or take them out and look.

Ill have to take a look at what yours (Jason) And drftin420's look like at firestone sometime, but HID's for 170 sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Got a message back from Pete and he said they are PIAA Ambers, 85 or 110 watt but he can't recall which. He also said he "ordered them from mas in apple valley". Not sure who mas is but there you go. :)

Is it gonna matter what wattage i get? or will that just affect the brightness? Would someone know what series of bulb i need? I just replaced an out fog light and they look very much like the H3 series on http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-H3.html But i just wanted to know for sure before i buy something like this.
