Installed a K&N earlier today before I went to bed (I work nights) and when I started the car it threw a code. I checked the MAF and it was plugged in tight. However, the bottom of the airbox wasn't secure. I fixed the bottom of the airbox, and I'm still throwing a code. Does my ECU need to reset itself? Or is it something that should go away right away?

    Gracias,

    Bob

You will have to have the light reset, but the K&N will not throw a code unless it is over-oiled.

I've been running a K&N for years, no problems in any of my cars.

Cheapest way to reset the light = disconnect the engine battery.

and leave it unhooked for more than two seconds, give it a little time before you hook it back up.
but on the other hand, i've NEVER had a intake or filter cause a CEL to come on. unless you tried to start it prior without the MAF on. otherwise it might be wise to check what the CEL is on for, before you clear it.

Panel Filter. The MAF wasn't snug when I pushed on it after the CEL showed up. I'm guessing that's what the issue was. Might take it to autozone on my way to school tomorrow to make sure what code its throwing.

I'm going to agree with what everyone else said. Probably the plug to the MAF wasn't seated totally/properly.
