So I have a 94 Impreza wagon with one very cheap, flimsy, copied key, I was going to go to the dealer and get them to cut me a real subaru key and I was thinking, would an STi key be able to be cut for my car?

i don't know how thick an sti key is, but as long as they are the same thickness they should be able to cut it for you, even though they will probably just give you one that works for your year.

I don't think they were able to make one for my old impreza, I wanted one too. When I got my RS I got an STi key because I could finally get one. You will have to ask one of the mtka guys tho.

well you could probably figure out a way to make it work, i mean its a long shot but you could probably pull the sti blank apart, your key apart and glue them together and get a sti looking key for your car..but odds are you would just wreck both of them..

I bet there is a crazy way to do it, I was just curious if they could just cut one and it would work, I just need a real key for it (before mine breaks :ugh:) and remembered how cool the STi keys are

only way to find out is call and ask, if your willing to pay and it will physically work i don't see why they wouldn't do it.

Sti key blanks are different than the old impreza/legacys and cannot be used.

hmm, well it seems that an STi key is out, are there any other newer model keys that would work? (WRX, Legacy, etc.)

    There. Or here. Sometimes both.
Dude, just have a dozen keys made from the hardware store. It will still cost less than one from the dealer.

You can use the sti key, you just have to change all the locks to take the new key.
