My daughter has a KIA and it needs help. She took it into the dealer in Invergrove Heights and got screwed. They sold her over 1k worth of exhaust work and never fixed the problem.

Looking for someone trustworthy willing to work on a KIA.

Drop me a PM or reply thanks.

    Mike

    what's the problem?
don't know of a whole lot of kia mechanics, but I'm sure a bunch of guys on here are well enough versed in basic mechanics to try and diagnose it and recommend a specialist...

That's more than likely a solid set misfire. Most KIA's go through both fuel pressure regulators and coils/wires.

Get ready for the bill to be costly! KIA's are total junk.

and they were playing with the exhaust?
i'd bet something more along the lines of a bad injector, spark plug, igntion coil... but nothing in the exhaust system..

Could be a massive EGR leak too.

That wouldn't set a blinking CEL as often as you'd think. If it's missing, it should have the flashing cel.

OK next question, where to go for the repair?

BTW this was one of those times my kids did NOT come to me for advice when picking a car. I gaurantee it will be her last time, I think a Subie is in her future.

I don't want to recommend a kia dealer because you already got hosed on that one, but lots on independent shops either won't touch them, or they'll just shotgun parts at it.

You'd be better off trying a few parts on your own for no labor charge...

World Auto in Eden Prairie off Martin Drive, they do solid work and its pretty reasonable really if you need to bring it to a shop

Mikes Auto in Shakopee across the street from Total Rental... tell him youa re a friend of Nathan (old Meineke owner)... they will take care of you... they are awesome.. we would send all our major diag to them.. they ALWAYS fixed it and never cost us a fortune...

also tell her that she should get her money back.... they never fixed the issue and threaten that if they removed the cat while it was still functioning properly then that is a federal violation and you will be reporting them to Kia Corporate etc etc... they will wanna play nice...

ps.. you guys ever gonna pick up the excursion??? or have you... never looked today
