    :(

I grew up watching him and the Twins, I still remember the night he hit the homer in Game 6. He really was a great player to watch, not only for his ability but also for his attitude as well. He really was a true joy to watch, and his retirement was a loss for the sport. His passing is a loss for us all, and leaves a hole in each of us who watched him play.

I have to admit, I started to cry when my mom called me at work and told me. I was a huge puckett fan when i was little, and when ever i left my grandparents house, i would yell to my grandpa "Kirby Puckett" and he would yell back, and we would go back and forth tell i couldnt hear him anymore. So when i heard about his passing i thought of my grandpas voice and smile, and also realized my grandpa passed away march 26th last year, 20 days from yesterday.

R.I.P Grandpa and Kirby, my 2 icons growing up.

    RIP No. 34.

My condolence to his families, friends and us fans. Kirby will always be one of the great sports figure in my time. What he did to the sports of baseball and his involvement with the communities will be unmatched. Kirby brought a lot of enthusiasm to the game of baseball and proven us that you can touch the world with a big smile.

In Jr. high school, I celebrated the first World Series win when the Twins beat the St. Louis Cardinals. When I was in Sr. high school I celebrated again as the Twins won their second World Series against the Atlanta Braves.

In 1997, I watched Kirby’s jersey #34 retired as he left the sport he so loved with grace. I once again celebrated with Kirby as he’s inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Today I am saddened with the passing of Kirby Puckett. Here I am… standing with the rest of the communities he’s touched, as we look at his life accomplishment and dedication to the sports of baseball. A legend… he will be. He is our Babe Ruth, our Joe Dimagio.

Thank you Kirby, for the enthusiasm and a childhood full of memories... you will be missed.

I will never forget the game 6 homer. My brother and I jumping up and down in the living room after that game. We're going 7!!! Great player, great attitude, and great sense of humor. A good friend told me a story about him a couple years ago. This friend(a former co-worker) had a friend that worked as a limo driver. One day he had to pick up a bunch of Twins players one of which happened to be Kirby. Apparently Kirby put down the glass and asked the driver if he went camping with someone and woke up with a sore butt would he tell anyone? The driver replied no and laughed. Then Kirby asked if he wanted to go camping with him.

    RIP Kirbyyyyyyyyyyy Puckett!
