Someone help me. I just installed these on my car and I had them all set to 4. When driving the car it felt very bouncy. When cornering if the road was bumpy, I felt scared, and had to slow down from when I know I took the corner at that speed with my stock struts.

Last night I was on my way home from woodbury, so I changed thr front struts from 4 to 1 and the bouncing seemed to be less.

    So the big questions are:

    1. what is the stiffest setting for the strut? 1 or 4?
    2. What does the adjustment change? Dampening or rebound.

    Thanks for the help guys.

Bill, I think you need turn down the settings. I would try 3 in the front and 2 in the rear. When I did a search that's seemed to be the typical setting people were using for daily usage.

I believe it's just dampening.....that's what their website states

evidentially 4 is highest, 1 is lowest

    play with it

Are you still on the stock tophats? Also, are you on 02-03 Prodrives?

I believe I am on 02 springs. Yes stock tophats. I just adjusted the front to 3 and the rear to 2 and that seemed to do the trick. I will let you know more later.

4 is the stiffest. i think what happened is that 4 is too much dampening for your spring rates. i would turn em down a bit to 3/2 as was recommeneded, and give it a whirl. overall the car will ride stiffer and you will notice alot more bumps which could be mistaken for bouncyness.

Part of what you're feeling is actually your stock tophats. The stockers are more for comfort than performance and will actually "bobble" a bit when you turn up the struts. That's part of where your bounciness is coming from. The other part is that you may be a bit undersprung when you start turning up the damping. From what I've been able to read, the 02-03 Prodrives are around 175/175 front and rear, so they're stiffer than stock but not 30% stiffer. If you were to swap out your tophats for a set of Group N hats (get the 04+ if you want more spring options, just get a set of spacers from the rear from Turninconcepts for the rear struts as the threaded section on top is different on the 04+) and get a set of STI takeoffs or a set of SPTs you'd notice a more controlled ride and you could crank the damping all the way on the AGXs. The STI/SPTs are both around 223/195ish and would be better matched to the higher damping settings.

Oh, almost forgot...The AGX adjusts both rebound AND compression damping at the same time. IIRC so do the Tokkico D-Specs. The Koni inserts are single adjustable (rebound only) but have a wider adjustment range as they don't have a 1/2/3/4 setting, just a twist knob on the top of the strut. There are a few very good threads on Nasioc in the suspension forums as to the pros and cons of each type.

Bill, too bad we didn't leave your rear tophat covers off like we were talking about. Oh well
