Hey, Anyone put an exhaust on a'05 legacy GT /wagon? I'm wondering what works best. I have a Cobb AP, and want to go to stage 2. Any sugestions? Jack
Seconded on the link above. I don't know about a full exhaust but I've been looking at the Rally Performance midpipe and perhaps a ScoobySport tail. There are clips of the ScoobySport at the RallyPerformance website but I'm not making any decisions until I hear it in person. There is also a ProDrive tail. IIRC you don't really need an exhaust to go Stage 2 on the GT, just an UP/DP. Will you be using an AccessPort too? Which reflash are you going with?
I have an AP. Haven't looked into a map yet. Can't decide if $1400.00 is worth the hp. output. What do they say?, 40hp. Does just doing the up and down pipe on stock system have a better hp. to cost ratio? thanks for your imput. jack
I don't think there's any way that simply adding an exhaust is going to add 40bhp. You won't need to replace the exhaust until you want to push beyond the 350 lb-ft realm.
Nah, there is a guy down here running Stage 2 on a UP/DP and has been doing fine with it. He was going to put a Prodrive axle-back with a hi-flow catted midpipe but it wouldn't hang on his wagon. There's another sedan running the DP and a decatted mid but without the UP. Cobb recommends a UP and exhaust but we're finding it isn't entirely necessary. Especially nice given the price of a good exhaust for the GT. But again, if you're pushing a little beyond simple pump gas and such then you'd want a higher flow system after the turbo. Honestly with how good the boxer sounds I'd just get a couple good mufflers welded on a 3" stainless pipe from the turbo.Custom jobber like that may even be cheaper than a retail version.
wrxboy2003 does great work with exhaust. send him a pm and he will work something out with you for your car....
My brother-in-law is running a 05 gt with the up/down pipes and is running the stg2 maps. I haven't had a chance to check everything out with the protuner software/wbo2, but I am guessing that everying is fine. If the lgt maps are anything like the other cobb maps, they end up being SUPER rich. Russ
Not at pig-rich as my old Haltech map but yeah, the Cobb 93 map does run a little on the rich side. At least rich tends to be safer, certainly more so than lean. I'm curious about the tuning software for the AP though. I have a little more experience than most from my previous car's engine management so I may be able to make heads or tails of the maps. Would it be worth the extra couple hundred for it?
