I know a guy who just had the clutch and flywheel replaced on his 05' GT at a local repair shop. They charged him an assload, which isn't nessessarily the problem. What seems odd is they told him that he needed a brand new flywheel because this was a "special spring loaded" one and couldn't be resurfaced. Is there anything out of the ordinary about the flywheel in a legacy, or did they just make some **** up?
I read about the LGT's flywheel not being able to be resurfaced Some said to just upgrade to an 06-07wrx clutch/flywheel setup
i wouldnt doubt it. but besides, you typically would want a new flywheel when you replace the clutch anyways. its better for the car and the clutch thats still weird though
It actually is "spring loaded" as they called it. The real term, is Dual Mass. But it has to serperate parts. They can be resurfaced, but the cost is higher due to the fact that it is a more complex flywheel. They are VERY expensive brand new...
