    Anyone read about these?
    http://www.i-speed.us/programming/legacy-gt_reflash.shtml

A little bird told me you can get a reflash on that plant for 400 lb/ft torque and 300-odd bhp on pump gas. Curious as to how the EcuTek works though. Is it a software and adapter for a laptop or does it have to be done by a reseller?

ecutej needs to be re-flashed at a reseller, so there is nothing that you can do to it. A accessport on the other hand is something that you can do the re-flash with and use the cobb stage maps to bring you up to your current level of tune. You can also get a custom tune from anyone with the protuner software.

Check NASIOC for PDX Tuning's results with a Legacy GT and various upgrades. Very impressive.

ECUtek is just what Russ said, a reflash done by a vendor or tuning shop who has access to ECUtek's professional grade software (extremely spendy). I think you can also have it flashed in a way that allows some minor user tuning with the Delta Dash software, but these are very coarse and global adjustments as far as I know.

Please check this link for comparisons on our Ecutek reflashes;-) All of those stage Ecutek flashes are available through us or our online store, I have ridden in Jeff's stage 1.5T and it is sweet :-D

    http://www.pdxtuning.com/legacy_dyno.htm

We can also do the cobb protuner, currently we have stage 1.5 maps available for the LGT AP, and will have a stage 0 after tonight.

These flashes happen to be our base reflashes for the Legacy GT. Something we would offer to the end user located in any part of the United States, even those states with the infamous 91 octane. All you would need to do is mail in the ECU for a flash and off you go.

If you have any questions please ask...

Another person to talk to is Riftswrx. I think with his protuned ap he picked up like 45whp and 55ftlb one a STOCK car. Once I get my protuner software down, I am going to start doing some other tunes, but I want to get a couple of cars under my belt before I start others.

Not that it matters much just yet, I wouldn't do anything that would void the warranty right away. If I buy a new car I'd kinda like to see just what goes wrong with it stock before adding go-fast bits to it.

Thats the nice thing about the ap, is that you can covert it back to stock without to much trouble. Since there is nope ecutek flashers around, you would need to send the ecu back and such. One of the reasons that I went with the ap and protuner.

How much torque can the stock 2005 WRX tranny handle?

There's no way to know that or say a specific number. If you drive like a mongoloid you can vaporize your gears with stock power levels...if you avoid hard shifting and launches you can make a stage 4 car last a long time.

Well I mean it should have some sort of factory rating, that was more so what I was asking. With these flashes here it sure seems like you can put it over the limit pretty darn quick. Like the 05 WRX is rated at 217, and I swear I saw somewhere that a guy was saying the max it is rated to handle is 250.

Granted, how you drive factors into this, but if you are modding your car and you can't drive it fast because you're going too far over the max the tranny can handle...that doesn't seem like such a good idea.
