I hope someone can help me, I bought a wrx about 5 months or so ago with a 3in tbe and about 2 months ago it but out a cel for p0139 - rear 02 sensor slow response and I bought a spacer which is what some one on clubwrx told me would solve the problem and it did it cleared after I reset the code it didn't come back on for like 2 more months, then it did again but this time I checked it and it said p0139 so I waited a couple days and it went away all on its own, but it came back but with p0442 - eavporation emission control system malfunction, I know I shouldn't listen to the guy at autozone but he told me it is cause I have a bov on my car, but sense that p0442 code ive been only getting like 10 to 17 mph. Or like 120 to 170 miles on a full tank of gas.

or get a machanical fix(plug) for the sensor. Something like under $10 on ebay but tuning is way better.

05 wrx with tbe, Perrin lightweight crank pully thats it, like I said its hard for me to get time to take my car to a place to get tuning working as much as I do, where do you recomend I take it? Also would that make my mpg go down that far? It hasn't allways been this bad, just in like that last 2 or 3 weeks

The mechanical fix is for the 420 code I thought. But that code wouldn't effect gas mileage. If it's a slow response code, he probably needs a new rear o2 sensor.

Also, for your evap code you might want to check the wiring harness down by your "cannister" to see if any wires are shot or loose from the connector. Or, there is a blue "T' just to the left of your alternator. It's kinda hard to see, but there should be 3 hoses connected to that. Make sure they're all connected. Oh yeah, and get rid of that spacer...

I really thought that now everyone tunes their cars with TBE. I guess i was wrong. There are a few members on the forum that are very good road tuners. It will take them an hour max to get you very nice tune. You will be amazed how much faster your car will be. Your TBE without a tune makes probably 20hp. Get a tune and be amazed and very happy.
