I am putting in some low compression pistons on my RS-T and need some advice on tuning. The current setup is a TD04, wrx inj. walbro 255, wrx TMIC, 2.5 TBE, 2" uppipe, tuning with the emanage ultimate, plx m-300 wideband hooked up to it and the other little stuff. My question is after the wiseco low compression pistons are put in, what has to be changed on my map so i can run safely for the break in period. I have heard that the ignition timing map will not need to be messed with much but the main thing is injector map. Would i have to add boost and fuel to make it run right or just add fuel for the break-in or just add boost? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
no boost will ensure a safe break in. were you running the RS-T with the stock compression or is the kit going on w/ the low compressin pistons? if you were running turbo on Na pistons you should be able to advance timing w/ your lower CR pistons. as for fuel i am not sure. you will need to most likely add more in the high end to compensate for boost, and perhaps pull some in the low end, although having extra fuel down low will give you some more TQ. hard to say.
Your fuel and timing tables will need to be rescaled because you'll get much higher load once you turn the boost up. If you're running with no boost for break-in, I image you shouldn't have to change too much. I'm not familiar with how your ECU works, though.
yea i was running the kit with the n/a pistons. still no detonation or knock but its just time to put in new wiseco low compression pistons. ill just advance 1-2 d. of timing throughout the map. as for the AFR i may just tune for fuel at cruise and nothing at WOT for at least a 1000 miles. but let me know what the flaws of doing this....
