metalcast gound coat primer , 2 cans $16
metalcast red , 3 cans $24
dupli high gloss clear , 2 cans $10

total = $50

you may not need 3 cans of the color but i was trying to get it consistant and ended up using more , then got some clear to smooth it out

for now its way cheaper then powder coat and achived the look i wanted , i will let you know if it doesnt hold up , but the heavy coats of clear should help against chips , i hope......


also the ground coat is very flakey , i recommend changing the papers or whatever you use to mask it off to reduce overspray dust , and also once dry , wipe off excess flakes with clean microfiber towel before spraying the color on top , i did it on the 3rd one and it helped alot , it looks better , not enough to redo the other 2 ,but from less then 5 ft away you can tell the one i wiped down

painting the last one now and then this project is done....

It's a Nikon D70 with either a 50mm f1.8 or an 8mm fisheye.
