mentos & Diet coke LOL

We did a test.....it shot up when we put some mentos in that 1 liter.

 

That was crazy!

So if you throw mentos into a 2 liter of coke, it just instantly errupts?

YEah but diet coke works better! make yourself a little funnel and funnel like 5 mentos in the 2 liter and it goes up probably about 10 feet! ITs really sweet. I wonder what happened to that idiot on the video! All the gas releasing in his stomach and esoftogus! What a moron!

 

That reminds me of what some high school kids back in the day (in hot California) throwing bread and Alka-Seltzer into the air for seagulls to swoop down and gobble it. Then they would count how long it took the seagull to drop from the air and foam at the beak.

Do I dare mention what my brother and I used to do. Lets just say it was one paticular cleaner and aluminum foil in a 2L. Those went off with a really BIG boom in a minute or so. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. Very dangerous. Acid gets thrown all over the place not to mention the chunks of high speed plastic.

 

i was thinking about that too but I think there wont be enough time to close the cap but i have already thought of a way of doing this hopefully i'll have it on video soon....

 

^^how about opening up a fresh 2 liter bottle of diet coke, using 1 square of toilet paper, cup it into the neck of the bottle, sit maybe 5 mentos on it, tighten the cap and let loose. I think that'll work.

 

fong your ideal was gay believe me i got one planned out i'll have it up soon...plus toilet paper soaks up really fast by the time you know you'll have diet coke up in your nose....

 

^The point is to not let the toilet paper soak into the pop. Once you tighten the cap, turn it upside down and the toilet paper will break releasing the mentos to their deaths.

 

dry ice in a 2 liter is just about one of the most unstable things you can mess with.

On another note, I'm getting kinda sick of the coke and mentos thing, seeing it on letterman the first time was pretty cool, but these poor guys really need to find something better to do with their time.

 

Did it really take about an hour to blowup? According to this dry ice site, a dry ice bomb takes seconds to minutes to explode. Seems like if it took you an hour, something must be wrong.

 

I just gotta ask, why post in a thread that's 4 years old? Obviously we aren't discussing this anymore ... how on earth did you find it? Were you searching our site for dry ice? Kudos for searching, but please refrain from bumping threads that are this old in the future. Make a new one if you want insight.
